Any news about Scavenger Hunt and GOG.com Edition?

Recommended Posts

I'm a would be GOG owner, waiting for Obsidian to sort this out, or let us know they aren't.

(I haven't chosen where to get a key for yet, would prefer GOG but undecided)

There is a topic/post from user Deus_Ex, which offers kinda different solution for this, at least a temporary one if anyone is interested:

Works great, by the way.

@Big-Ben yeah maybe after they get this first big patch out we might hear some news.

Obsidian will give an answer when they feel they have a satisfactory answer.

Look. It's a precedent thing.

I get that some folks are more lenient than others but any dev I catch supporting the walled-garden-lock-out idiocy of DRM over their consumer is immediately flagged as oh-carp and placed on pause the next time around.

Because the only way we end the silliness is by casting the only vote that means anything.

I hope this gets resolved soon. The first story DLC is not too far away, and before I buy it or the season pass, I'd like to know which platform to stick to. I'd be willing to switch to Steam if the GOG version keeps having problems like this.

It would be of small avail to talk of magic in the air...

Yeah, I see updates are coming, but no update on Scavenger hunt for GOG players, not even mentioning. And, let's be truthful, it is already some months past release. At least some note of reassuring they are really working on it would be nice from them.

I believe the last we heard, ObsidianEric stated on reddit something along the lines of "GOG players WILL be able to get the Scavenger Hunt items or I will die trying".   [ RIP Eric, you will be missed. ]   :p

Seriously though, just follow the instructions <in this post>

Installation is barely any more difficult than installing a mod.  The "DLC" files are nothing more than a few tiny scripts to tell the game to drop some items into the party inventory.  Who knows if there will ever be an official solution, but following the above instructions is no different than what Steam does to enable the scavenger DLCs.
