Devoted, Summoned Weapons, Monk Fists, and Soulbound Gear

Recommended Posts

Basically, how does Devoted class abilities and penalties interact with Summoned Weapons, Monk Fists, and Soulbound Weapons? Like all other, regular weapons? No bonus, but also no penalty? Like their chose weapon?

Info is a bit scarce and poor on this at the moment.

Devoted gets fist proficiency for free, so devoted monks effectively have two devotions.

Not sure about summoned and soulbound, but I assume it would depend whether the weapon type matches their devotion.

If the summoned weapon matches the proficiency of the Devoted then you will get the bonus. For example if you chose proficiency for pike then you'll get +2 PEN and +crit damage with Citzal's Spirit Lance.

Minor Blights works with no proficiencies, so it's not working with Devoted. Same with Druid's natural weapons.

What about the Devoted penalties? Are Blights penalized when used by a Devoted?

I'm guessing Soulbound weapons work the same as the summoned ones: if they match the proficiency they get all their benefits, if not, their accuracy is penalized?

Yes. You get the penalty with the Blights.

Boeroer, weren’t the Blights using a proficiency in PoE?

Hello!

PoE: the Blights are considered wands but are also universal weapons and thus work with any weapon focus. Since they are wands they also work with Blast and Dangerous Implement.

Deadfire: Blights don't belong to any weapon type (same as Druid's natural weapons and Form of the Fearsome Brute's fists ) and thus don't work with any proficiency. So Devoted+Blights = screwed. :)
