Unable to get past victory screen in Battle for the Dam

Running Ipad Gen 5, no perma death, rise of the runelords campaign.

 

After the battle of the dam, you have to select a role for your party.

 

I'm unable to select a role.  I can hit the preview button and see the available roles and powers, but unable to select anything to proceed.

I believe you have to select a role from the two (clicking on the name of the role) and then, select a power to be gained (power feat). After that, the exclamation mark should disappear from that character and you will be able to proceed. I think

Among my 11+1+3 characters, I did not encounter any problem in the role selection after AD3.

I'm experiencing the same issue at exactly the same point.  Unable to get the ! above some of the characters to go away.  Tried exactly what Jenceslav suggested of course.
