Footbaw is back baby! As is my tradition, I have been completely avoiding anything NFL related outside of the draft, but the bombshell the Raiders just dropped was impossible to ignore. I'm just stunned. On the cusp of the season starting, the Oakland Raiders just traded away their best player, and got maybe 30 cents on the dollar for him. What the ****!? Their justification for making one of the worst trades I've seen in years is that they couldn't afford to pay both Carr and Mack, so they chose maybe the 13th or 14th best QB in the league over a once or twice a generation level linebacker. Just... *gasp*

Anyway, congratulations to the Chicago Bears for the early Christmas present they just received.

As for my Boys, we're headed for 8-8 again aren't we?

Not sure about Carr being 13 or 14. He had a down year last season, but he's still relatively young and has a pretty solid resume already. Most of the guys I'd rank ahead of him are in their mid-30's, so who knows what he will become in the next couple seasons?

"Nice to see the GOAT get paid."

Tom Brady got paid?

brady would be in our top ten.  jim brown is an option for goat, but we would suggest walter payton were a more complete back and both barry sanders and gale sayers were more impressive pure runners.  is tough for us to give brown goat vote when am thinking there is legit question as to whether or not he deserves #1 at his position. perhaps if he played a few more years before going hollywood? jerry rice deserves consideration for goat.  is no other wr who deserves even a sniff o' our top ten much less goat.  admitted, the wr position perhaps limits the appreciation o' such a superlative worthy player.  no matter how good a kicker or punter, we would have a difficult time awarding such an athlete goat.  sure, wr is different than specialist, but it is rational to handicap a player for goat status based on their position. even so, jerry rice legit argument for goat not withstanding, am gonna suggest goat should be clear, though am suspecting is a tougher call for anybody 40 or younger. lawrence taylor is our unquestioned goat. he redefined the position.  for years, offensive coordinators designed game plans to limit lt impact, and they consistent failed.

off-the-field has understandable diminished his legacy, but a decade o' complete and utter dominance at a position he revolutionized earns lt our goat... and such an admission pains us.

HA! Good Fun!

Tee-hee.

But in all seriousness though, GOAT, as in Aaron Rodgers is the greatest thrower of the football the league has ever seen.

He's not the most accomplished QB, cause that is of course Mr Brady.

I'll do it, for a turnip.

We can debate who is going to win the Superbaw, but the real important topic is who will be the crappiest team in the league. Who ya got? I'm going back and forth on the Raiders, because I have zero faith Gruden can coach a pro team in 2018 and because they traded away their best player, and the Cards, because that team is just a mess.

I think the Cowboys will be really bad. I'm not saying they will have the worst W-L record but I think they will be a huge disappointment given the renown of Zeke and Dak (and their O-line).

I also think this will be the year when the Patriots implode. Granted, I claimed the very same thing last year, so a bucket of salt to go with that (and to further explain; by implode, I mean missing the playoffs).

I'll do it, for a turnip.

Muh Boys being terrible is too fortunate an outcome to occur. We'll be mediocre as always, that way we neither make the playoffs nor get a good draft pick. Plus our worthless patsy of a coach will inexplicably retain his job.

As for the Pats, they can sleepwalk to 10 wins by virtue of a crappy division, as usual. Who's going to take the division from them? The Bills? I know they somehow made the playoffs last year, but that is not a good team. The Fins? LOL. The J E T S Jets Jets Jets? Double LOL.

Yeah, I don't think Carr is the problem with the Raiders.

I love it. And, the crying that people are doing over it. I've seen plenty of people quit work by simply walking out no questions asked no warnings. Good on him.

I guess it would have been nice if he'd addressed his team-mates. But IMO pulling himself out was better than staying and bringing the team down, or getting himself/teamates hurt, for not really having his heart/head in the game.

The shot on Cam Newton was unnecessary and disappointing.  I know ATL hates Carolina and Cam, but there's no need for that kind of stuff.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Sometimes, people realize that work is no longer worth it. Like I've said, I've literally seen people sneak out the back door at work and vanish into thin air because the pressure of it got to them and they said screw it. The big issue here is he is under contract. of course, walking out/quitting/retiring means he won't get paid so there's that. Apparantly he did tell at least one teammate at half time but he doesn't owe them any explaination. The team doesn't give a crap about him neither does his so called teammates. he needs to look out for himself. PERIOD. This is 100% the team's fault.

Really up and down. Teams that looked good last week didn't so much this week.

Rams and Chiefs look really good though. I know it's early but still, they look legit.

Packers offense was crap yesterday. Long time since I've seen them so poor catching the ball (and 12 was off on a few early passes too).

I'll do it, for a turnip.
