What are you playing right now?

Started playing BG:EE as I never finished BG so long ago. It made me remember how much I disliked AD&D's ruleset, enhancements are pretty good however.

Full release of FFXV - performs about the same as the demo. Looks great. I still take too many screenshots and videos to make any plot progress. PS4 controller works fine with it via DS4Windows+ScpToolkit.

On the Pro, tried to start the new Chapt. 14 content. It seems like it'd be fun (there's several new quests+the boss fights) but somehow not feeling it. Maybe because there's no Ansel feature. :p I wonder if six months from now I will have stopped playing it on console ...

I said I'd do it. Belm, the homeworld of the Belmacosoans is now a fantastic mining deposit. 16 minerals! I kind of feel sorry, because this was the same empire I played the first time I encountered a War In Heaven, where I lead the galaxy to victory as the League. But they made an enemy of me.

The Contingency hit, because of course it's the Contingency, I've only ever had the Unbidden once and the Prethoryn showed up for an observer game I wasn't playing. I'm like a Contingency freaking expert. If anything else showed up at this point, I'd get terrified and quit the game immediately.

For the first time, it seems, they only had one hub in my territory. I crushed that and am letting the rest of the galaxy deal with it. I'm going to turn on the Awakened Empires in my borders and take all their stuff. Debating whether I should blow up the Xenophile's homeworld or not. The jerk made me a signatory!

If I hit the Xenophile hard enough and fast enough, wipe him out in a single war, all his subjects should become mine. If I fall just a bit short, the subjects may rebel while I'm in a forced truce, then they'll join the League. Just makes the mopup more tedious.

Doodling around with FFXV, and taking way too much time wandering around, hunting and doing side quests for the story to actually unlock...

Noticed that I was suddenly losing GB's of empty space on my system hdrive. Then found out that somewhere between the updating of NVidia stuff, and installation of FFXV, it had auto switched on that Highlights and been taking video of my in-game moments whenever the game thought I was doing "awesome" stuff. >_<

More Assassin's Creed Origins.

I'm torn between whether to sell all my extra gear or dismantle it for building material.  On one hand, selling it will give me more gold to buy stuff I want.  It also allows me to upgrade current gear that I like.  But on the other hand, dismantling the gear for building material allows me to upgrade the various damage and health components quicker without having to wander around the wilderness looking for animals to kill.

Been playing the PSVR and I'm loving it. It's ****ing awesome!! The only thing that is disappointing is that someone wasn't smart enough to make a Jazzpunk VR version. Somebody make it happen please!

Dishonored 2... No kills/No detections/No suspicions/No powers Run.

One mission took me four hours to complete, but I did it lol

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Been playing Into the Breach. Don't think it will have anywhere near the legs that FTL had. I know Chris Avellone is credited with some writing for it but there's barely enough writing to justify writing credits.

I also got Origin Access or whatever it's called. 40NZD for a year was just too good to pass up. So i will be playing Batman: Arkham City soon.

I hate doing any quests in Assassins Creed that involves having to escort/protect civilians.  Dumb computer AI ultimately rears its ugly head, seeing them run out in the open, charge toward a group of enemies, then get hacked to death because they don't have the sense to let me finish off the bad guys first.

I did a replay of Silent Hill 2. Was kinda worried as it's one of those special games for me and I was thinking it wouldn't hold up. But I think it still packs a real emotional punch, they really hit upon something special with it.

Gameplay isn't anything to write home about but the atmosphere and story are fantastic.

Special game!

I took a high rank Kirin down in MHW since I needed parts off its corpse to upgrade my Awakening Charm, which in turn unlocked (most of) the sleep ability of my Crushing Beak 3 hammer.  Even with the Thunderproof Cloak I got as a reward for defeating Kirin the first time (at low rank) it was a very difficult battle.  Even with the cloak active, the damage Kirin does with lightning spam is still really high and the cloak doesn't completely prevent getting stunned by lightning attacks (despite what the item's description says), it just reduces the chance of getting stunned.  Just 1 mistake in the battle can cause you to faint (something I did twice in the battle) since Kirin can take you from full health to zero if you get stunned by a heavy lightning attack and he follows up with another heavy attack before you can recover, even with the cloak active (and it doesn't stay active forever, it's effectively a potion with a long cooldown).  This is where my choice of weapon, the hammer, hurts me.  The hammer's one major drawback is the long recovery time from its powerful charged attacks.  This leaves me open to Kirin's lightning spam and unable to dodge out of the way.  The solution is to either use a different weapon for the battle (nope) or adjust my fighting style.  I have to not get greedy when I have an opening.  Usually, when I see an opening against a big monster I go in for the big fully charged spin attack and maximize my damage by delaying the powerful upswing that takes you out of the spin as long as possible so that I can get 4 full spins in before I upswing.  On most monsters this works well since, if I choose the proper angle, the momentum of the running spin attack tends to take me under the beast, a spot that most monsters can't attack me in forcing them to reposition, which takes time and allows me to unload maximum damage into the belly of the beast, sometimes even catching their head as they scramble to move to a spot where they can hurt me.  The problem is that Kirin has no need to reposition, he can just drop lightning wherever, including right under his body.  I have to go for the upswing after 2 spins, or even just 1, to cancel out of the spin early so that I can recover and get out of the way of a lightning strike.

Greed in MHW is my biggest weakness. I just can't wait for proper opportunities to attack instead i spam damage whenever i can. I probably could have learned not to do that but i only play every other day and i keep forgetting. :D

I still fall into the trap even though I know better.  There are times I know I should use a less powerful attack or cancel out of the spin attack early, but it's just so tempting to max out the damage that I sometimes do it in ill advised situations.

:banghead:

Edit: Just defeated an Azure Rathalos.  Fight started out terribly for me as the Ratholos went straight into enraged mode and I was fighting it in the worst possible location (surrounded by lava).  I had to burn 2 mega potions right away before I got a lick of damage on the Ratholos.  I recovered and eventually won (without fainting once, though I came real close a couple times) with both help and hindrance from Bazelgeuse (ol' Bazey likes to drop in and interfere in your battles against other monsters).  I need to take down Bazelgeuse, it's been a fight I've been putting off for a while.  Bazey keeps interfering in my battles, as he is wont to do, so I think it's about time I teach him a lesson.

I'll try to do better  right now. Maybe even learn some of their patterns. ... That's i wish at least. What will actually happen is i'll throw away mats to try out the insect glaive and i'll have knowledge about another weapon instead of mastering a single one first. hehe

Insect Glaive seems like potentially a really powerful weapon if you can master it, but difficult to grasp.  I know I was really crap with it when I tried it out in the training arena.  Gunlance and Switch Axe also both also fall into that category for me.  I struggled mightily when trying them out, but I can see enormous potential in the hands of an expert user.  I'm just really comfortable with the hammer and reluctant to go through the learning process with another weapon right now.

Completed God Eater 2: Rage Burst. Defeated 1 optional DLC aragami - Orochi.

I guess, I'd like the game more, if it was 3 times shorter (or had more different aragami, instead of 4 re-skins per type), less linear (story-wise) and less grindy. Otherwise, it's a really nice MH-like game. Haven't seen many of these on PC (just this and the Toukiden series).

Resident evil 7 isn't as pretty but damn does it do the job so damn well!! So far that's the one that has impressed me the most.

Skyrim VR is quite nice but is like playing on minimum graphics. Still need more to form an opinion.

Damn I want more VR games now to come out

Good for you. I have 2 lances, which might turn out to be my primary weapon type for afterstory grinding, i also have a few Longswordsm which was my original weapon type, dual blades, because they're fun, the Ice hammer because it's the best looking weapon in the game i also wanted so use a hammer at some point. Then there's Switch axes that compete with the lances for favorite weapon right now. There's also a Charge blade that i upgraded but i just can't get used to. And for last there's a few greats sword that might be stuck at low upgrade level but when i have the mats i'll probably upgrade again. Oh i've also got a Lightbowgun because i wanted to try that slicing ammo thing that every was talking about but i don't like the gameplay. It's still good for taking out bugs i want to skin though.  and last there's the gun lance. Probably the weapon i'm most sorry that i wasted mats on a irreversible upgrade. i did try the bow and the sword and the shield but neither is for me. So from weapon types that are left he glaive looks the most promising even though the horn is great for coop i hear. Maybe you should give it a try since it's a hammer of sorts .

Forgot about wearing a "Ring of Nixperience", which meant my anime boy band were gaining xp, but not tallying it up to gain levels in FFXV, so actually had about 490k XP. Took it off, slept the night at the high class resort, and gained 31 levels in one go.
