Nooo!

...not as affecting to me as Davy Jones, but still. My TV-watching childhood. *sniffle*

The Monkees was the only show that my mom forbade us to watch, albeit temporarily (they showed it twice a day, five days a week at one point in local syndication, meaning that with 58 episodes, every 5 weeks you started it over and we watched it every single day twice a day - my mom just got tired of seeing the same episodes over and over.  She relented a few years later because it is a fun show and she'd recovered from being forced to watch the 58 episodes umpteen times).

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

somehow missed his passing last week.  didn't see it mentioned at the dozen or so news sites we frequent.  weren't 'til yesterday eve when folks were complaining 'bout the academy in memoriam snubs we realized he had passed.  in any event, am knowing he gets most credit for singin' in the rain, but we were always a big fan o' damn yankees and charade

@star trek fans: a young boothby played the the prince o' darkness in damn yankees and were fantastic; one o' our favorite on-screen devil portrayals.

HA! Good Fun!

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Man, both of those last two were pretty dang young.

Such is why I try to enjoy the present more and more vs. thinking about some far flung future. You just never know.

I think it was first reported last week that Jan Michael Vincent had passed.
