The Great Game Giveaway: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Edition

I've gotten exactly zero requests for it

I considered it, but upon reflection, it seems like Civ games have gotten worse with every new iteration as of the last few, and as far as I'm aware, there's still no "world scenario"-type game that at least makes an attempt at a real world map, which is what I actually want instead of the random arcadey bullcrap* that the Civ games tend to be, so I had to decline.

*There's so little satisfaction in playing in and with randomly generated/placed landforms and civilizations if you ask me, but that's me...

I think the best of the series is in Civ V Complete. And Civ 6 looks to fix some issues even with that game. But really they are always best once all the content is out, otherwise the systems aren't as rich and complex as I desire.

There is total war 2 game, which at least uses mediterenian map. Or Europa Universalis series XIV century.

There is probably civ 6 community map with real earth, however i am not sure if the locations are more or less right.

Total War games are disappointing and shallow on a whole 'nother level, though, sadly. Europa Universalis I really liked at first, but I started getting very frustrated with the devs as they just kept adding more and more unneeded features on top of the game and it all started becoming a jumbled up mess. I wonder if they've stopped releasing expansion yet. As for Civ 6...if they're anything like the real world custom maps from Civ 5, they are probably wonky as heck and don't make for an actual good campaign. :(

While I would love to try out this newest Civilization iteration, I honestly don't have time as compared to someone else who might want it.   But I will say the generous people on this forum are just awesome and it's great to be apart of it and I look forward to the day that I can give out something that someone else might want.

I have seen Cities Skylines in here, is it only DLC or base game as well? I would like that one - as for Civ 6? Meh. Civ 5 much nicer

I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. The killing floor games are really good! I love both of them, even love the first one as much if not more than the 2nd one. Old game with strong community still.

Yeah, it's a classic although I think I would choose the second one if I could only have one of the two since I really like how they implemented 'smarter' AI as part of the difficulty curve instead of just piling on HP and damage reduction.

"Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum."

can someone explain how Humble Monthly works? I got an email telling me about the games in the February bundle. got me excited because I wanted to play Owlboy, Snake Pass and Tacoma. I go to the website and the games aren't there. turns out my card got declined, so now I'm trying to pay for the bundle with another card, and I can't find how to do it. can I not have them anymore? what's the point of sending the email then :(

You're best off actually contacting Humble themselves if you were already subscribed.

yeah, I guess I have to. I was just wondering if that's how Humble Monthly works: on a certain day they charge your card, and if there's no money on it, your chances of getting that month's games are gone?

Yeah, I think so, because then your new payment rolls over to the next month. They're trying to make people stay subscribed, not only subscribe for one month to get the current crop of games.

so, I'm looking at the pre-order page for Deadfire on GoG, but before I buy it I wanted to ask: is there anyone here with an extra copy (from Kickstarter or something) who'd be willing to trade for it? I'd rather deal with you guys than give money to GoG, tbh

I dislike CD Project RED and want them to go out of business, so naturally supporting them with my dollars would be, ahem, kind of awkward.
