all abilities are not equal in law

Hello,

Once you are in multiclass system, equivalence is important.

E. g. :

[PALADIN] Exalted focus :

+5 % of hits converted to crits. (Eventually x5 = 25 % but scattered for each member of party (less impressive) and with the problem of distance of the aura)

[FIGHTER] Disciplined strike :

Via Intuitive

+50 % of hits converted to crits.

I count what abilitie brings intrinsically.

Why should they be equal? This game is not about a set of equation that should be have the same solution. The whole thing is about making a char that you like and is at least viable. Different class are good to do different thinks, they should NOT be equal

No it is not the point of view of Josh sawyer.

He said Gap between "Viable" and "Optimal" must be reduced !^^

This game is not about a set of equation

Since all are shared (passives and actives + Multiclass associations of two classes), yes you must to propose similar values.

If not, I take an another abilitie. With multiclass of POE2 this effect increases. I do not speak of different functions abilities, but similar bonuses...

Think to it : You'll never take this poor 5% bonus... Admit it ^^ For the value of ONE point of abilitie. Not worth it.

Obsidian change the system mainly for this reason. Useless talents. To finally do that...

I don't understand your point. If you are playing solo you can have some arguments, but this is a team game, so both bonus have situation in wich they are better. Nontheless you can have a warrior with disciplined strike with 50% hit to crit conversion AND a paladin near with +5% hit to crit conversion on top ( wich is anyway an aura, so it affects also other teammates). Both are worth taking imho

Edit: and the paladin aura should give hit to crit conversion even to spells and abilities, so it's even more useful

If you are solo my point is gone. Because there is a concept, a class, a general package, with goods abilities and powerless abilities. No problem.

I talk of multiclass obviously. Now comparison is not only in the tree of the class himself, but with all the classes, because they can be associated.

In this great ensemble, I have more choice, this the intrinsic value of this talent seems weak.

Even for spells, 5 % is pretty weak. You must pick 2 talents for the best diminushing returns ever. (first = 3 modals, enough atm for me).

Why not :

1) Zeal aura : + 4 accuracy

2) Exalted focus : +7 accuracy, +10 % hits converted to crits.

It is balanced without even thinking about it. Price : 2 abilities points.

Well...actually, answer me this question, will all of your party member DPSer? I doubt you will build a team of 5 DPSers. So there will be supporter, tank and crowd controller(for example, wizard). This 5% HIT to Crit bonus will do nothing to these roles. So unless u make a 5 DPSer team, it's not 5% x 5 = 25% bonus. It's only 5% on your DPSers.

So for balance concern, and as a powergamer, I'll never take this talent...
