Carnage is raw damage - so only the initial target will feel the awesomeness of the rapier's PEN. ;)

Skald with Hel-Hyraf and Killers Froze Stiff (also 50% hit to crit conversion) + Berserker is basically the same with a bit more fuzz. But he can add some nice chants and quickly accumualtes phrases for more invocations.

No idea. It's still too much new stuff happening that I have to process so I couldn't concentrate on testing out those things. But I'm curious, too. Also if the carange-crits give the Skald phrases or not.

I'll see if I can test it today. Of course, that'll require me to find a weapon that has an on hit property first.

Or just make a barb/monk and check if Enervating Blows and/or Swift Flurry work with carnage-crits.

Or use a battle axe (raw DoT on hit) or use a pike (reduced defenses on hit). Or a mace (reduces AR on hit) and so on.

Tested it. I build a Barbarian/Monk with very high Perception and Constitution, low Might and played on Story Mode (maximising crits and my own survivability). Took Axe Proficiency and used the Console to give me Enervating Blows (you can't get it as a multiclass character in the beta as it's too high level). I also sacked the rest of my party so I was solo.

I went and fought the Delemgan encounter north of the starting town. I hit and crit several carnage attacks but none of them affected their target with the axe modal* or enervating blows. Looks like Carnage no longer procs on hit effects.

*The axe modal was on, I affected my main target with it several times.

I feared so. :( Thanks for testing!

No problem. I'd guess Obsidian realised that balancing Carnage with multiclassing would be very hard so simply changed the way it worked to make it easier.

The fact that it's raw damage is nice at least, particularly if penetration remains reasonably punishing.
