Hi again!

I have some questions concerning adventuring parties.

IIRC, you can have a party of 6, tops, or just 1, like I did with Lem the other day.

But can I change it while I progress through the content?

Now knowing that I can have several campaign saves going, it would be swell if I could, say transfer my solo Lem and add him to one of my parties of 4, for instance.

So, questions:

After a scenario, can I use manage party or something, and then...

-Add a new party member?

-Remove a party member?

If yes, how do I do it? Are each character saved in a roster, a bit like multiplayer Baldur's Gate?

All of your characters, across all of your parties, are part of one large roster.

When a character is assigned to a party, consider them "checked out" of the main roster until the party is disbanded or they are booted from a group.  After they are a free agent again, they can be added to any other party in progress.

To modify a party in progres, pop open the "Manage party" window.  From there, you can click on the (-) button to remove them from the party, or click on the (+) button to add a new or existing character.

In the case of your Lem, the easiest thing to do it to delete his party save.  From the Main Menu, go to Start ->  Rise of the Runelords and click the red X in the top-right corner of the solo Lem party.  Once the party is deleted, it will free up Lem to join other parties.

Just keep in mind that when you start mixing and matching party members that you can always go back and replay old scenarios to fill in any gaps in advancement.  The "old" party members won't receive the reward a second time, but anyone that may have missed out can pick it up.

While it isn't technically against the rules to mix players, it is a non-traditional way of playing the game.  I can feel a little like cheating if you have a couple AD6-level characters shepherding a new party through the game.

Wow, thank you for all the info, and it does seem that all I dreamt up is indeed possible. Thank you. :)

I asked about Lem specifically, since I really liked that versatile character and was thinking of adding him to my latest party of 4. They are just 3-4 scenarios ahead of him.

Heh, and like you said, there sure is room for party twinking here, but I won't dabble with that.

Just to add, all progression is tied to the characters themselves, not the party they are in.

If you delete a party you are just making them free agents again.  That's also why we allow nicknames for the characters, so if you wanted to make a new party with Lem you could use some of the other characters with a low level clone of them.
