What are you playing right now?

You could argue that Levine is pretentious and doesn't deliver what was promised but there's no way he's anything like Ayn Rand. Firstly he clearly dislikes objectivism as Bioshock is an out and out critique of the practicalities of objectivism with dozens of clear and unflattering references to Rand's literature; and he's done similar critiques of other philosophies in his games (Pagans/ anarchists in Thief, Many/ communists in SS2) so he isn't pushing any particular approach. Rand would criticise other philosophies for sure, but not her own.

Ken Levine would almost certainly know Harvey Weinstein. Gaming Ken Levine probably not though.

Yeah, have to hand it to Levine on that one. Pretty balanced as far as extremes go, and it simply makes for a good backdrop to the setting. That's pretty much the only reason why I liked Bioshock - atmosphere/setting/music/voice acting. The gameplay itself is junk. And with the voiced protagonist/Elizabeth even the voice acting took a hit in Infinite. Fairly grating at times. The first two are a less in your face and more fun because of it. Edited by Blodhemn

Yakuza 0 has the worst escort mission in the whole history of gaming. I was pretty sure I was going to rage-quit but then I realized that I could take out the attackers with a shotgun I had in my inventory.

Also, for the love of god, let me explore the city on my own instead of shoving a side-quest down my throat at every turn. Seriously, I had fate in you, Yakuza...you better get better otherwise I'll replace you with a second hand copy of PREY I bought the other day.

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Well, on the other hand, I am so ****ing happy, that Yakuza 0 is not another Open World Checklist Exploration Simulator , like every other ****ing game in 2016/17...

Well, on the other hand, I am so ****ing happy, that Yakuza 0 is not another Open World Checklist Exploration Simulator , like every other ****ing game in 2016/17...

It is like that in a way actually. Activities aside, most shops usually sell either food or healing items which only replenishes your heat or your health. That being said, activities aren't always fun either. Fishing? been there done that...some 20 years ago while playing Ocarina of Time. Bowling? How about we bring cousin Niko with us? An absurd dancing mini game where you have to push buttons? I am not a big fan of Guitar Hero. Playing Outrun? No thanks, I've played a quadrillion versions of that game...same goes for Space Harrier!

Characters have very interesting personalities though and you mostly feel for them. If I finish this game it will be for the story and the characters, not the gimmicky activities  Side-stories can be very interesting(to read) but there is mostly no gameplay involved unless you are forced to beat the snot out of someone or answer a few questions.

Well Yakuza is by no means flawless game. But compares to everything else, I've seen this year it's unique, fresh and original game.

I've recently added Transformers: War for Cybertron to the games I'm playing. I missed this game. Still playing too much Titanfall 2 and too little Muv-Luv Alternative.

Yeah, the awesome story is better than 90% of the games I've seen out there and it's what keeps you playing. The writing is actually so good I don't know when it was last time that I played a game that payed so much attention to the background story of every single character you meet in the game.

You nailed it. With such a good story and crazy **** happening, you can forgive lot of flaws. All the Yakuza games are excellent at story telling.

Detention, "an atmospheric horror game set in 1960s Taiwan under martial law" that has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. I thought it seemed like an interesting setting for a potentially more story-driven horror game, but it just alternated between boring me with not that well-written dialogue and other text, and startling me with jump scares. Not for me. Not as bad as other poor entries in the genre like Dreadout, that's for sure, but still not what I was looking for.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

So I just started New Vegas and I already hate that freaking inventory made for consoles!!!! grrr

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Currently playing Mad Max, Overwatch and Bomber Crew.

Bomber Crew is like FTL but set in a World War 2 bomber. You go on missions, get money and experience. With experience your crew gets better, with money you can upgrade your bomber.

Finished a re-run of Saints Row 2.  Now going onto Saints Row 3. Pondering on if there are any interesting mods out there for it.

Hm. Nope. Pretty much basic car tweaks and nudity mods. Ah well.

it doesnt take much nudging to get me to start up a game of fonv.  started up one i left off because i was in HH (did it as my way of getting money into the strip) and finished it up, was near the end, and just got the chip and gonna try out the ncr route but first start gathering up my companions, then figure i jump into dead money roleplay wise because i cant decide to do house/myself/ncr and i instead hear about this casino and decide to say screw it to the factions and this is gonna be my escape and see how well the story works in that regards.

Playing The Saboteur. Just got to the open world part I think, seems fun enough to be worth the $7 so far

So I've been playing GalCiv III a lot the past few days. It doesn't suck. It's fun it it's way. It's better than the new Master of Orion, no doubt. But it could not carry Stellaris's jock. Despite it's flaws, Stellaris beats it coming and going.

Playing Wolfenstein 2: the New Colossus on PC on hardest difficulty and really having a good time.

Also got 2 copies of Ass Creed Origins; a pc copy so I can play it in 4K now, and I got an Xbox copy so I can play it in 4K HDR when I get the One X next week. Ass Creed currently looks horrible on my Xbox One S, running at sub 720p most of the time *barf*

I loved that game and played it to completion. It does get repetitive after a while, but I still loved it.

I'm still playing Elex and I'm up to the point where I can join any faction I want (and I accidentally destroyed a town on my way there). But I don't want to! I mean, the choices I have are:

Red tapers (berserkers): you get magic but you're bound by rules and laws

Brainwashers (clerics): you get technology but uh.. brainwashing

**** (outlaws): you get freedom but all they care about is profit

These factions almost makes me wish I could go back to being an Alb.

Yeah, they sure did a good job of not making there be an obvious choice for the factions. The way things are going in my playthrough I wouldn't be surprised if I got rejected by all of them. Berserkers ought to be good because they're fixing the planet, but they're doctrinaire and inflexible luddites; clerics have the same rigidity but are pro tech and outright brainwashing; and the outlaws are completely the other extreme, a mess who would end up fighting each other all (even more of) the time if they didn't have to worry about the other factions.
