Politics Episode 7: Remake of Episode 4

Recommended Posts

Ah ok well that's more like it. Good on him telling Brown that though. Have to admit it is reality. Trying to read up on this will be tainting, can see a lot Express, Sun and Mail articles ;p

It's one thing to think that, it's another for one head of state to say it to another. Especially two countries whose cooperation has changed the course of history for the better. Sonst würden wir auf deutsch geschreiben.

Not too sure about that. The amount of crap adventures those two have gone on kind of takes the luster off WW2. Context of when that came up would be interesting. Besides isn't the "special relationship" a bit of a one sided joke?

Yeah, my mistake Bernie is more far "left" than Hillary. I forget there's more to the left and right than Democrat and Republicans. I still say Hillary was not our "center" at all, that was Johnson.

Johnson was center because he had a good mix of both Democrat and Republicans ideals. I mean Hillary was full on Democrat and was gonna push everything that had been going on even further.

Hell the practices she pushed wouldn't have been the end of the world, the whole vibe and atmosphere of the media and social propaganda that they were using is what really needed to go. It was like simply having a woman in office "trumped" any reason for her not to be in office. Nevermind she's horrible as a person and as a politician, she could a been a the stupidest **** on a stick and it wouldn't matter because we finally got a woman as a president. That whole mindset of shutting down talking with your sexist if u don't like her, your racist if u have any problems with Obama, etc etc.

The one good thing we got going for us right now with Trump elected is that **** got toned the **** down. Instead of how horrible we the public are for being racist/sexist/and all the hundreds of other ists we were being called, it's all directed at Trump now :) let that blowhard suck it and take it instead.

Johnson's a moderate Right-Libertarian, that's not very close to the "center" or even the relative American "center". Hillary was in the "center" because she embodied the status quo ideals of liberal democracy. Macron is similar and if you look at their positions you'll notice striking similarities.

I think KP has the closest take on Clinton's political position. Although it it worth noting the Hillary Clinton that ran in 2016 is a lot more centrist than the one we were first introduced to in 1992. And the one that ran for the Senate in 2000. Perhaps she has moderated her positions after years of government service. That is certainly possible. Or she is savvy enough to show the voters what she wanted them to see. There is no way to know what is in her head. But from what I've read Ruth Bader Ginsburg was entirely her idea. So if that is the kind of justice she favors it makes her a non-starter in my book.

But even in 1992 there wasn't much "socialist" to her. She did favor parts of it but never bought into the whole program that I ever heard. She was never a "true believer" like Sanders is. She was definitely to the right of Obama.

After 8 years in office I figure we have a pretty good bead on who Obama really is as well. Like Clinton there are parts of the socialist program he likes. But also like her he was not willing to buy the whole thing. He was more of proponent of corporatism than socialism. He has a definite and unquestionable authoritarian leaning though. He believed in the absolute power of the state and all "rights" of the people come second to that. I'll be honest, until the Republicans took the House in 2010 he terrified me. After that I slept a lot easier.

ie. Obama like most people was/is a Nazi. 99% of people are Nazis who don't believe in personal freedom. They just pretend they do.

Don't worry Bruce. There are no Nazi's here. And even if there were who cares if they get offended.

What Macron Can Teach America: It’s Time for Center-Left and Center-Right to Unite

Two years ago, En Marche didn’t exist. Now it’s a supermajority. It can happen here—and it’s just what our sclerotic system needs.

by John Avlon

Yeah, I'm not sure that what America needs is another overt Rothschild ****ing stooge. I mean, it may superficially look appealing in the sense that En Marche! has managed to "heal" the rift between left and right... only it really hasn't, and the current popularity it does enjoy stems from a) the French left being a complete joke and b) both the traditional and populist flavors of right currently not being very well liked even by many of their own core voters. I'd rather look at what was happening in the streets in Paris in the lead-up to the election to better take the pulse of French society than put much stock in Macron's parliamentary strength.

An American Macron could perhaps fool voters to win a Presidency or two like Obama did, thus in appearance addressing the issue of increasing polarization, but he or she would do jack **** about the problems causing that polarization to begin with, assuming they didn't actually make them worse. A band-aid at best.

Okay, so after everything has been said and done..

Trump suddenly decides to tweet this last night..

Just out: The Obama Administration knew far in advance of November 8th about election meddling by Russia. Did nothing about it. WHY?

Is it just me, or am I squinting over the unreality of Trump saying that?

Prepare to have your minds blown! Prepare to lean that you have all been the victim of the greatest con in the history of politics! Prepare to lean the true mastermind of the whole Russia thing. And his ultimate motivation: the election of Hillary Rodham Clinton! We are through the looking glass now!

Actually after that buildup the actual news story will be a bit of a let down. But there is something to it. If this appeared on Breibart or Infowars it would be worth a laugh. But coming from the NY Post does lend it a bit of credence. http://nypost.com/2017/06/24/inside-the-shadowy-intelligence-firm-behind-the-trump-dossier/

I personally think that all this "they control the world" theories come frome the deep psychological desire for someone to be in control of this. The biggest fear of those people is not that "they" are in control but that no one is in control.

That idea would make for a great South Park episode!

Come on guys: be a rainbow, not a painbow.

The Macron circlejerk really is laughable. Historically low turnout at the presidential election and he could only beat Le Pen, an awful candidate, by a decent rather than comprehensive margin. And 1/8 of the people who did turn up voted for the unofficial 3rd candidate, Monsieur Blanc, so even the low turnout was misleading. Le Pen getting a third of the vote is hardly a resounding victory for anyone, it only looks like one when she was polling 40% instead of 33%. At least he could beat his awful opponent though, unlike Clinton, so there is that as a positive.

As for the parliamentary elections, the turnout was utterly dreadful- 42%. Previous one was hardly great at ~55%, except comparatively. Still, hardly fits the storyline when the great inspiration Macron's party actually got fewer votes than the Socialists got last election and only got 200,000 more actual votes than the 2nd placed UMP got last time.

The rampant embiggening of Macron is simply a sign of exactly how establishment a candidate he is. You'd think he won with a massive turnout, inspiring millions to re-engage in politics. Instead it was the exact opposite, the Ne Voté Pas Party won a pretty comprehensive majority.

You certainly are correct that there are people who think this way. Many if not most people actually, need answers. It's natural to want them. A lot of people can't handle unknown, so they make things up, believe crap that they're fed, or trust in some others to think for them. They do this in their personal life, and they do it when looking at the world at large.

However, I never said 'they control the world', I simply said some folks have masters (in other words, they are puppets), some knowingly and some not. Not even a very controversial thing to say, as most people will acknowledge that politicians are bought and paid for peoples. It's a cliché even. Unfortunately a great many of the same people somehow think their politician isn't (very rarely is this actually the case at a national level, and the four I named most certainly do not qualify as exceptions to the rule). Also, few of these same people take the logic further or follow the money trail as far as it goes. Answers are there if one bothers to look, ugly ones.

Ben No. 3 did what he so often does, and thoroughly misinterprets what someone wrote, imagining things are said they are not said. Unfortunately, and sadly not surprisingly, others went with it.

Do I think there are people who control everything in the world? Nope. Do I think there are people who want to? Yup. Do I think there are people who wield a great deal more influence than many here would think? Yup. Do I think there are politicians that are perceived to be very powerful that are in actuality not due to being bought and paid for? Yup.

None of this is controversial to any truly thinking person, or is in the realm of aliens or other retardisms. 'The man behind the throne' is an age old expression, and more often than not an apt one. One of the main subjects of this last election was: Was politician X compromised by Y? Hell... the main stream media is still relentlessly pushing a 'conspiracy theory' about the current U.S. President being bought and paid for. One that some here are actually buying.

I'd like to think you're sharp enough (no pun intended) to realize this, you usually seem to be.
