Yeah, gameplay is janky but things like being an unprofessional smart arse dressed in full body armour while meeting Marburg and watching him come to the boil are some of the best actual role playing and dialogue in any game- though of course most won't actually see that on a first play through. The reactivity is minor in most practical respects but the overall impression of reactivity won't be beaten too soon.
