Confirmed: Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire

Recommended Posts

3 returning characters :(.. i hope we have more new and original ones please! ... And please Obsidian.. Improve the awkward character animation already!

also.. screenshots looks so lovely.. but.. if you add in the fog of war.. not so much then. so i hope they can make a bigger vision field.. i sincerely thinks that the fog of war really destroy the lovely background

But you can't really leave out fog of war either, can you?

That would render things like scouting ahead moot, not to mention spoil the surprise of encounters.

Maybe they could add a clairvoyance kind of spell/scroll to the arsenal, but removing fog of war completely? I could imagine that there are quite a few people that wouldn't like that too much.

How tall is the titan? The Enless Paths were 15 levels but the titan only took up ~10 or so levels? (Im asking, never played PoE). So if a "storey" is ~10Ft then the titan is approximately 100Ft tall? Gonna be one hell of a fight!

did you know the statue in the endless paths of od nua is ~ 210m/689' tall? on par w/ the waldorf astoria chicago.

I liked the story and characters but wasn't a big fan of the combat, found it rather boring so I used the party AI most of the time and lower difficulties.

But then I realized the party AI was not up to snuff either, doing nonsensical things (like activating rage on barbarian after the fight ends lol) and not using half of my abilities.

Level ups gave you mostly "same thing with different name" in terms of abilities so for me it was a muddled mess of quantity over quality.

I would love some DA:O style party AI management where I can set up my own AI. I loved setting those up and just afk the fights :)

Less trash mobs and smaller party size please. A thing tyranny got right. I'm on board though, take my money :)

Not asking for removal of fog of war. Just asking for it to be bigger vision field :). Or there's a skill that improves it like many games. That you can see further. That be neat!

I STRONGLY disagree with smaller party size. You can go on restrict yourself TBH.. You can even go solo!. No point in restricting others simply because of your preference. But i do STRONGLY agree lesser thrash mob but MORE challenging combat with tactical variety. Not artificial difficulty by upping the monsters HP, resists, etc.

 smaller party size please.

Completely no on this.  I agree with Archaven, if you want smaller party sizes then go ahead and don't use a full party but I actually hate hate HATE the ever reducing party size.  Hated it in DAO, hating it in Tyranny, I actually wouldn't mind INCREASING the party size.  8 or 10 could be interesting.

You are right, I just hope for a better product and more often than not: less is more ;)

Oh hell, just realized that I'm gonna have a really looooooong wait until I can get my grubby paws on this. So happy but frustrated, really frustrated.

"Those who look upon gods then say, without even knowing their names, 'He is Fire. She is Dance. He is Destruction. She is Love.' So, to reply to your statement, they do not call themselves gods. Everyone else does, though, everyone who beholds them."
"So they play that on their fascist banjos, eh?"
"You choose the wrong adjective."
"You've already used up all the others.”

It is 210 meters tall (689 feets).

I don't think we are going to fight that.

Wouldn't really be as simple as that IMO. The game would most likely be balanced for parties of whatever size the cap was.

Personally I thought the smaller party was one of the things that made Tyranny's combat superior to PoE's, even though I was definitely skeptical at first.

Am I crazy or do the graphics look a little better than in the original?

They should! It's been 4+ years!

True enough! Some sequels don't make graphical enhancements, so I wasn't sure if it was just my eyes deceiving me.

The visuals were pretty great if you asked me.. just that the awkward character animations.. i hope they can have new character movements, animations, positions, etc. this time around.
