Help getting a 2nd Character make a check versus a bane

Hello,

 

I'm having some trouble figuring out how to have a second character make a check against a bane.  Here's my setup, I have two characters at a location.  Character A explores and encounters a bane that requires two checks to defeat.  Character A successfully completes the first check and I want the second character to do the next check but I can't figure out how to do that.  I've tried selecting Character B's portrait but the check still seems to be based on Character A.

 

Is this even possible with the app version?  I know it's something that you can do in the card game but I haven't been able to figure it out with the app.

 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

There will be a small purple icon above the Check Type/Value dropdown menu. You're probably aware but still - you can use that icon to take the FIRST check with the off-turn hero.
