RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS

I don't really pay attention to advertising.  Or previews.  Or reviews.  I find that is the key to happiness.

Ignore everyone, really. Games are much more fun when you play them for what they are instead of 800 people taking turns telling you what to hate them for.

Yeah, because being a completely uninformed consumer sounds like a great idea.

I can come to my own conclusions from watching trailers and reading up on the game at hand without incompetent or corrupt reviewers, hype bandwagoneers, haters, wanna-snob-"connoisseurs" and terrible user reviews telling me what to think. :p

But hey, I'm not here to convince you.  Go ahead and keep buying products based on zero information, I give zero ****s if you waste your money.

I don't think any of this is true.  I think you are trying to convince me, and you are worried about me wasting my money, and that is why you responded to my posts.   :p

I also do not buy products on zero information.  Instead I read great stuff on these forums, from great posters like you, who put up neat pictures and tell interesting stories about the games.

I also just tend to buy games from developers I've liked in the past.  It doesn't really matter what the word on the street is, the developer has equity with me and I'll support them with my dollar until they lose it.

Your point would be more poignant if it weren't for the fact that opinions in games are incredibly subjective.  Really the only thing you will get a consensus on is whether the game runs or not, after that it is going to be individual mileage.

There should be a review site that just tells you whether the game will crash.  That would make me an informed consumer.

Well, lots of other things than just CTD'ing to consider - games have a lot of systems in them after all and those could have flaws. And those systems can be judged in not a totally subjective way, as well I'd iamgine - by that I mean the thing being "bad" may be so for 90% of the users - things like clunky UI or tedious functionality.

YOU'RE GONNA READ REVIEWS AND YOU'RE GONNA LIKE IT!

Seriously, generally speaking, all I need to gauge whether I'd like a game or not is an uncommented gameplay video. When I'm still unsure, a fair few people have their Steam library shared with me via family sharing at this point, so i just try it whenever I can. I've not spent more than just a few bucks on a game I'd actually dislike in ages now, and when I spent less than just a few bucks on it, it was because I wasn't sure about liking the game anyway.

I rely on people I despise. If they like something, I know to not bother.

I think they made them a bit distorted, but I think audio is a general weak point

Stopped reading at the shocking conclusion that people on the internet have opinions.

Anyway, pt. 3 of Doom documentary:

If you have negative opinion on Doom you deserve to get negated or... Something, I don't know. My faltering writing skills diminish even further with increasing tiredness.

Man, I really wish that Squeenix would still use such nice graphics for Final Fantasy games as well. I am so tired of their "ultra-realisticness" :(
