They don't get to leave. The US will remain united until the end of history.

I'm just very surprised that it's Texas and not the South lol

Been there... done that... didn't work out so good.

Actually in all seriousness, state secession COULD actually happen but it would be precipitated by some very heavy handed action by the Federal Government. As in a lot more than anything Barack Obama even considered doing. I'm no fan of Obama's it's true. But he is not the tyrant that suspends the Constitution and starts ordering Americans in death FEMA camps. Neither is Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump for that matter. It would take something like that to do it.

Agism is very much an acceptable form of discrimination, and mostly overlooked or ignored. Lack of foresight.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Scotland gets FREEDOM!

Ireland is finally united.

Greece leaves and says **** off to debtors.

Stock Markets crash, right populist parties fail badly.

A wave of radical left parties are elected in Europe.

Hillary Clinton mysteriously dies by an ice-pick and Bernie Sanders becomes President.

Bankers are thrown into labor camps and all assets are seized across the world.

Putin reveals himself to be Vladimir Lenin.

The world goes full socialist NWO.

The Gangster Communist Computer God reveals itself and takes control.

In 1000 years humanity is genociding alien species.

Mark my words

ok

While I appreciate the joke, **** you for topping mine.

I just had to do it. :D

I have a Scottish expat for a friend over here, and he's hoping that Scotland succeeds in getting their independence after a referendum this time round.

Personally, given my own roots, and especially after their national team led by Bale excelling at soccer now, an independent Wales would be very neat.

Nigel is the shiz.

One of the only politicians anywhere on earth at a national level that is telling it at least somewhat like it is.

Got a problem with him relative to other politicians, and I'd say you've probably got a problem with reality.

I wonder, does it mean, that English will not be an EU admin language anymore and we will be left with French and German... Oh god, please no...

My god! This is the darkest timeline.

This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

As an important note, this referendum is not binding in any way. Parliament still has to vote on what actually happens. I would hold your breath over this.

Regardless, good for Britain. Hopefully this gives Scotland the stones to actually secede, even if only to change their preference of shackles. Anyone against Brexit hates liberty. That is not hyperbole. There is no reason why anyone from the UK cannot travel or trade with the EU. There is nothing holding any UK citizen from applying for EU citizenship, just like before. Any restrictions that may or may not be imposed on the UK by the EU are strictly at the fault and discretion of the Brussels and Brussels alone.

All Brexit does is restrict the power of a unaccountable, supranational, unelected executive and bureaucracy. If you think that's a bad thing, then you hate liberty, and it's time to be honest with yourself and others about that.

Let's just be frank here: The primary reasons people voted for Brexit is to stop Muslim migration. The working class voted for Brexit because they are scared, sick and tired of hearing Muslim rape gangs migrating into their neighboodhoods and targetting their women. The elites, upper-class and wealthy do not care because they have not been the not the victims of Muslim migration: Muslim migrants moved into low-income and poor neighborhoods.  They have not been not moving into neighborhoods of the elite and wealthy, wrecking havoc on the families and communities of the upper-class, and raping and sexually grooming their daughters and sisters.

I was reading on Wikipedia about the series of Rotherham child rape committed by Muslims against British women.  Then I reached the end of the article and see a list of similar rape cases - all committed by Muslims (mostly Pakistani Muslims) against the local white women.   The Muslim rape gang problem in the UK (or just in Europe in general) is just like the mass shooting problem in the US - i.e., they have common occurences.  Except in the UK and Europe, the government and the media have long  refused to report the rape cases due to political correctness and fear of being labeled as racist and Islamophobic (until the recent Colonge incident in Germany, which has really changed climate in Europe.)

So you think Wikipedia just created those cases out of thin air? That none of those rape cases happened and Wikipedia made them up?  BTW, those are all cases that have been investigated, put on trial, and the Muslim rapists were convicted. So it was not like Wikipedia just invented them.

During our midsummer celebrations, the topic in the sauna came to the #brexit results. After quickly realizing that it won't change our possibilities to travel to there, nor how we do our on-line shopping with UK-based shops, and finally our access to british culture in general, we quickly resumed with more sauna, drinking, swimming and bbq:ing with our hearts content.

Well done, you glorious bastards.

"Maybe not, but it is the perception that EU does that matters."

Sure, that's why either you don't hold referenda on such complex matters or you use a 2/3 majority.

For one thing, now that UK is free to persue tough immigration laws to halt migration without having the EU interfering and overturning those new immigration laws.  EU has a habit of allowing - or even encouraging - member nations to pass open-door immigration laws, and at the same time overturning any efforts of member nations to toughen up immigration laws and stopping migration, including Muslim migration coming in from outside the EU.

Why not?  Better than the the undemocratic EU that is run by unelected, appointed officials, i.e., the European Commission in particular, who  routinely  overturn local laws passed by locally elected officials.
