When you fail a Goblin Commando combat check in the Woods, it reshuffles instead of banishes

Question

I fail the Goblin Commando combat check.  After I fail, it does the 1d4 - 1 Ranged Combat damage, then shuffles into the deck.

But I'm in the Woods and it should have still been banished even though I failed the combat check.

What do you mean it does 1d4-1 ranged combat damage?

Looking at the commando image online (unless the game version is different), it does "1 ranged combat damage" before combat.

After failing combat check it should do normal damage (based on the delta between your roll and its difficulty), not 1d4-1, right?

I actually had it do 1 ranged damage and then shuffle away instantly, before I even got to do the combat check.

You're right, it only does 1 Ranged Combat damage

I just check on this location with the Commando and the Scout and they were banished correctly. Is there anything I am missing?

Well, this is definitely more of a glitch than a reproducible issue, and it could be similar to the bug I reported on PIt of Malfesnekor shuffling back into location. The fact is, we have cards that work as intended 99% of the time, but then something weird happens. So maybe the issue isn't with any one individual card but rather some Shuffle/Banish logic?

(I also got the Commando Gob/Scout auto-banishing after dealing their pre-combat damage)
