About Multiplayer Plans...

Recommended Posts

Hey PA team! Super excited for this game, and wondering a lot about future multiplayer features. I'm aware that you won't be answering questions about specific features, etc, but I would love it if there were any comment you could make on a certain general inquiry...

Basically, my girlfriend and I thrive on co-op games. I am hoping that it will somehow be possible to play with total co-operation in terms of trading cards to one another, etc. For example, if I find a really great magic staff for her Ezren, but I acquire it with my Valeros, will I be able to make sure that the staff goes into HER deck (and her "vault") and not mine, at the end of the game? I feel like a big part of the "we are a team of adventuring companions" vibe that you get from the cardboard co-op elements is rooted in things like having big, strong Valeros picking up a great magic weapon for someone else on the team to keep, etc. Or having Lem pick up hand-me-down weapons that Seelah has outgrown.

In short: do you have a rough plan or idea as to how to handle sharing boons picked up during a scenario, either by cards being freely tradable between scenarios during the "deckbuilding" phase, or by some other method that would prevent, let's say... Sajan, from being stuck with an awesome magic sword that he can't use or doesn't want when Amiri would love to have it, or trade him a blessing she picked up for him, etc.

On the one hand I could see this creating issues wherein players will attempt to sell or trade for cards that they farmed, etc. On the other hand, I'd really hate to lose this element of the cardboard game. I suppose we could always pay pass-and-play and literally share one vault of cards, but given that I will be grabbing this game up on Steam and playing it there almost exclusively (once it's released on that platform), I'd really rather not try to crowd us both around a laptop, or try to "pass" one around).

Well you can trade cards between players like in real tabletop version.

There is give a card phase in turn order, where you can give a card to another player.

You can Also trade cards between players after scenario when reorganising player decks.

This will be Great co-op game!

In the release there will be pass and play multiplayer option. The team has said that They Are planning online multiplayer too, but have not released time table to that feature.
