Getting it in the hole. Basketball 2K15-2K16

My Power Rankings in descending order from 1 to 30. Next to the team name are Vegas’s (Bovada) odds on winning the championship. For those that aren’t degenerate gamblers, +300 means that a $100 bet will earn you a $300 profit (3 to 1 odds). Not applicable this time, but -300 indicates that a sucker would need to bet $300 to win $100.

Power Rankings

1. Warriors +500
2. Thunder +850
3. Clippers +900
4. Spurs +350

The Grizz are all about Conley, Z-Bo, Gasol and a rotating cast of "other guys". They will go as far as the big 3 can take them. But Memphis is always a team at the mercy of injuries.

As for my season prediction, with Cleveland starting the year banged up and two starters coming off major surgeries I'm picking the Bulls to win the East. The Warriors are still the best team in the best conference but if the stumble Houston & the Clippers are each a close second

Finals: Warriors over the Bulls.

Memphis is essentially a dinosaur in today's NBA, and even Indiana decided to play smaller and faster. But dammit, it's still viable and may St. Naismith bless them with good health.

An NBA that has heterogeneous playing styles is just fantastic.

"-Bulls over Cleveland in the EC Finals"

LMAO How many times does Lebron led teams need to smack around Chicago just so people get over this nonsense? LMAO

I meanm, eventually, by the odds you toolbags are bound to get it right? I guess that is why you guys spam this prediction. L0LZ

Volo, you do realize that based on the odds, the Cavs are the favorites to win the championship right?

Anyways, the smart bet is to put money on the Hawks at +5000(!!!!!) and the Bulls at +1600 and subsidize that with the Warriors and Thunder.

3 to 1 on the Cavs and Spurs are terrible lines.

My completely unrealistic dream finals is still Memphis and Chicago. The battle of the Gasols needs to happen.

I hope so. I've been to a World Series game and a Stanley Cup game. A Super Bowl is beyond my means so an NBA finals is the last thing I need to check off.

Holy crud. Flip Saunders, R.I.P.

http://www.startribune.com/wolves-coach-flip-saunders-1955-2015/336900871/#1

I was under the impression that he was going to be able to come back this year.

I like direction the Timberwolves are going and took the OVER for Minnesota this year as I really think they've got some good talent and a drill sergeant vet in Garnett to show the younger players the ropes.

The NBA lost a good guy.

GSW 119 MEM 69 (Sorry GD!)

The Warriors are just good at playing basketball right now, and Wardell Curry II is currently the best player in the world. These are just facts.

A 70 win season may not be inconceivable.

That was just ugly. Just plain ugly. Especially the third period. I changed the channel after that.

Well, they did cut the lead in half by the end of the game and inexplicably prevented Golden State from covering the 17pt spread(!). I mean, that's as good as a win for the Nuggets, right?

...

I like Mudiay. He's gonna be good.

Meanwhile, in Boogieland...http://thebiglead.com/2015/11/11/demarcus-cousins-cursed-out-george-karl-sacramento-kings/

After Sacramento was hammered at home by San Antonio Monday night, the Kings' star, DeMarcus Cousins, stormed into the locker room and cursed out head coach George Karl with a torrent of obscenities, a person close to the situation told The Big Lead.

After Cousins unleashed the F-bombs on Karl, all the head coach - who publicly feuded with the Kings best player last summer - could do was walk away, a source tells The Big Lead. Afterward, Cousins felt some remorse for his actions, asking a couple of teammates if he came down too hard on the coach. They calmly told him, "you can't scream and curse like that at your coach in front of everyone."

The day after the San Antonio loss, the players had a well-publicized players-only meeting. What hasn’t been reported is that after the players spoke, Sacramento general manager Vlade Divac and assistant GM Mike Bratz talked to the players and Divac asked the team, “We don’t know what to do with George [Karl], do you think we should fire him?”

Their throwbacks are looking pretty fly though.

That's it I'm not watching anymore. The Warriors are just making them look bad.

I dunno GD. 47-41 at the half. Seems to me that Memphis is dictating the pace. It's feeling like a Grindhouse style game.

100-84. The game was never in doubt. I don't think the Grizz ever had a lead. I know it's too early to panic and I knew they would take a step back this year but 3-6 isn't good. And they have been abused by the Warriors both times they have faced them. They looked sharp in the pre season but the only quality team they have gotten a win on is the Pacers. I'm curious to see what adding Mario Chalmers from Miami will do.

The Pacers ain't bad. I gave them an Over on 42.5 wins in my preseason rankings.

The Nuggets though...they ain't gonna do much with what the garbage they're currently wearing. Until they decide to fully commit with going back to their Alex English, Michael Adams, Doug Moe, and early Dikembe Mutombo era uniforms --basketball will continue to only draw 9,000 to a game.
