Map 'x' close icon does not always appear

The first time opening the map screen (I use the keyboard shortcut 'm'), the map screen 'x' close icon does not appear.

After closing then re-opening the map screen, the 'x' close icon is there. Every time after shows the 'x' icon.

 

Note that even though it does not appear the first time, I can still click where the 'x' should be to close the window.
