I've always found romances in video games to be cheesy.  

 

Press 'A' to kisth

 

 

Where you go wrong is in assuming that cheesy = bad.  And how is pressing 'A' for smooches any sillier than pressing 'A' to defeat the bad guys?  They both bear about as much similarity to their real-life counterparts.  And yet people enjoy both of them.

 

I would have liked to romance Eder on my female human rogue.

They weren't romances, they were marriages. It wasn't "weird" as much as it was shallow; which was on purpose. Getting a spouse was just supposed to be a neat little doodad; like getting a house or furniture.

Bioware thought we wouldn't noticed, but I noticed as soon as I saw her god damn face, err his god damn face, whatever.  Gay agenda at it's finest.   Feminists ensured that the rest of the women were ugly as hell.

 

What really gets me upset is all the straight guys that ended up romancing her, oh man, talk about disrespecting my bros! I think the concept is called a trap.

In other words, you want me to just pretend Inquisition never happend, be totally passive, don't give any information to Obsidian, then regret not saying anything when Pillars of Eternity II has naked dancing gay men everywhere, extremely ugly females and shemales walking about trying to trick you into sleeping with them.  LOL. Passive straight men is why TV is plagued with gay scenes everywhere.

Well, you could have taken the same road as me and not have bought it, if Bioware's "gay agenda" pisses you off that much. I didn't buy it for different reasons, since I couldn't care less about straight or gay. But I'm also not the one comparing and analysing pixel skulls to nail them for being too gay friendly and for their feminists makig women too ugly for you to drool over.

I'm a gay woman and I didn't buy Inquisition because the series is dead to me after DA2. I can't say I feel very catered to as a gamer... I think DAI brought more enjoyment to straight male luzarius than it would to me, I mean look at him, he still entertains himself discussing it on internet forums when everyone else lost interest months ago.

If Pillars had romances in with the same characters that are available then I think it would have been creepy. 

 

 

 

The least creepy option for straight males and gay females would be Pallegina, and she is portrayed as not really having a gender or at least believes she doesn't due to her culture.  The other two options are a married dwarf who wants to see her family again and so wouldn't make sense for her and a mentally unstable woman who I'm not sure has the capability to give consent and so would not be right.  Straight women and gay blokes have a better option in that they get Eder, but then who can say no to Eder?  He's a dude!  Duuuuuuude!  There's Aloth too, though you may get confused as to which of him you are with.  Kana too.  Durance, no, and I don't have to explain why.  Hirav would be like pedophilia.

 

 

 

But the most important thing I have to say is, NO TO ROMANCES!!!!  I would not want to see the female characters changed so that I could bone them, because they would need to be and it would ruin them.  **** off back to Bioware!

There's this thread where people complain about backers getting backer achievements on steam, and there's this other thread where this guy tries to prove that Bioware are working on some hidden Illuminati agenda to turn straight men into gay men by allowing them to romance a female character, who arguably looks like a man.

For women, I guess Eder makes a lot of sense. He's a hearty down-to-earth guy... I mean, come on, look at his portrait! With his looks, he'd be a god-damn womanizer in real life!

 

From all the female characters, I initially thought that Sagani was the most attractive one. But given her backstory, it just wouldn't fit.

 

Hiravias... would be an option for women that are into furries, I guess?

No objection, he's pretty sexist so it makes a lot of sense for him to be a romance option. You gotta have at least one bad-boy for women, right? :>

 

Pallegina... somehow I didn't find her attractive, despite the looks. Also, I don't think a possible romance with her would be very interesting. She doesn't have enough background to support it. Hiravias isn't as interesting either, but he at least provides possible character developement. Pallegina is too static.

 

 

Also, why is everyone so quick dismissing GM as a potential romance option? Not only does she have one of the most unique backgrounds with lots of stuff to explore, but she is also pretty and has the proper motherly instincts to boot.

I wouldn't say it's extremely out-of-character for her... after all, you are pretty much the first person in her life that she actually connects to. it's just that any activity or argument would probably be very ... mental. Gives a whole new meaning to the term mind-****...

 

I really hope GM will be an available companion in the sequel. She's my favorite character of the PoE roster.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm not really into RPG romances, but I fell in love the first time I saw her.  <3

 

Anyway, the game does have romance.  Eder is one of the best bromances in RPGs.  :D

 

 

That's a fantastic artwork ... so damn close to the original art-style that it's almost disturbing that this isn't official!
