I've never done it myself, and I've read conflicting things about this. If I'm typing in red, it means I'm being sarcastic. But not this time. I don't really care about the Backer npcs since you can sacrifice them in other ways, but I'd love to throw more than one companion in the pit, even if I got no bonus after the first.
