as the question states, what exactly do rogues get from intellect? Ive been thinking about it and by tanking your intellect to 4 the only thing i can think it affects is the duration of status effects. They don't have AOE and they dont do DoT and reading their spells most of them are not duration dependent. the - will is bad but you can make up for that elsewhere, also you job as a rogue is to kill the caster BEFORE they bespell you. Im just trying to make the optimal rogue set up for my solo PoTD run and i think im gonna tank intellect but the only thing stopping me is that its recommended, why is it recommended????

Rogues have a lot of debuffs and disables available to them so it's recommended because of that. It's not the most important stat for them but it works. Plus later on you do get a raw damage DoT with every attack you do, which is affected by int as far as I know.

Tanking intellect would make your debuffs and disables last far less, and it would affect your damage on bosses too(because of the deathblows trait).

Im gonna try a solo ROgue too in PotD and I dropped intellect too. Dont be so obsesed with what people think the game i think is too complex to have a cookie cutter build... Its all deppending on what you want your toon to do.

If you solo you gotta sacrifice stuff thats obvious, and despite a brilliant carrer on one of the better universities sounds good, dropping intellect would allow you to get more physical defense.

And considering bonus stat of items cant stack you will eventually get a good item that raises your intelligence a little bit so its not that bad.

Gl on the solo run!

I see the dreams so marvelously sad

The creeks of land so solid and encrusted

Where wave and tide against the shore is busted

While chanting by the moonlit twilight's bed

But besides deep wounds - no reason. Its the rest of the party that provides status effects (that allow for sneak attacks) anyway. Rogue skills are only for alpha damage (hobbling/blinding strike not only is sneak but has additional +.25 dmg)

Thats what I was thinking, I mean by tanking my intellect to 3 the duration of two abilities decreases to like 60%, but I think its probably worth it to get the extra survivability, Im also thinking I want two item sets, an arbalest to initiate with, if it hits that should pretty much one shot anyone short of a boss

INT also affects traps. It isn't the most useful stat for a rogue, I wanted to make a balanced char and maybe pass a few INT checks, so I put a few points into it, but I think they would have been beter spent on DEX.

This was what i was most worried about, reading the solo rogue thread on here makes it seem like traps are pretty essential, ill give it a go and see how it plays out

but there is no limit to how many scrolls i can carry right?

They stack up to five in an inventory slot. And I'm not sure how stash limitations work in PotD/Expert.
