Unable to move after unfortunate combination of clicks

I couldn't move around after checking a Stronghold message.

 

Just back to Defiance Bay, Copperlane, I received a Stronghold message.
I fumbled clicking the wrong places, opening the Notes by mistake, before clicking the Stronghold.
After closing the Stronghold page, I couldn't move (no X pointer).
In the upper left corner I could still see the message scroll, almost closed.
I was near a map transition, and I could use that, so I moved to First Fire, still no X.

Were your people still making little movements, or did it look completely crashed?

I don't remember, sorry. I'm under the impression the mouse, not the party, was frozen in "Stronghold page", non-movement, mode.
