[Bug] Endless Paths Of Od Nua level 9

eccentric

Question

I'm tryin' to collect parts of blade of the endless paths. However, on level 9 of Endless Paths Of Od Nua, I'm supposed to get one of them from a secret room, which I can't open. According to walkthrough, I need to switch something on the wall, as in attached image, however i can't find anything while sneaking. Can anyone help me?

I am not 100% sure, but it might not be a bug. I read something about that when you first kill Marvaek at Caed Nua.

You get basically 3 options after you killed him, you need the 3rd option (to absorb his knowledge) to be able to enter a secret room with a valuable item (artifact)

in the 9th or 13th level of Od Nua.

I believe it was the 9th, where you are atm... but I can not confirm atm. Just wanted to let you know.

I believe that's the 13th floor, as I managed to spot the 9th floor one with a 19 Perception rogue, but I was unable to stack Perception high enough to detect the vault on the 13th floor.

The hidden door he's looking for is level 9.  I'm on the same one, and haven't been to level 13 yet.  Now I'm wondering if I can get my Perception stacked up with a scroll.  Think I topped out at 13 or 14

You can stack up Perception from the following sources:

-Food (Best I can find is +2, but there might be a +3 recipe in the game I'm missing)

-Resting (There's a couple that add +2 to perception, can't remember the names or locations)

-Items

Note that each of the categories listed can only be added to a character once.  While there are multiple foods that can add to a stat, only the highest food effect for a stat is not suppressed.  As long as you do not rest again, you can retain an inn's bonus indefinitely, so be sure to not use Caed Nua's bed since it's generally pretty poor effects compared to almost every other inn.  As with food, only the highest value of an item is not suppressed when there are multiple items on a character.

You can add Perception via enchantments on a weapon (+2), and I'm pretty sure the food and rest bonus are also capped at +2 each, meaning your total added can be as high as +6 over base.  You can place this on your main character or any of your companions, if they happen to have a higher base perception.

Alternatively, you can simply "hire" a custom adventurer from any inn and make them a detection slave.  I believe the highest starting Perception possible is 20 or 21, meaning you don't need to craft or anything if you don't mind temporarily losing a slot to bring them along.

Your main character in Act 3 also gains a special ability that adds +2 onto all stats except intelligence, usable once per rest.  If you haven't dumped any stats, +8 generally means your main character should be able to find or complete any task if you know what/where it is beforehand, and you plan on resting/eating a lot of food between now and then.

I didn't know there was a perception enchant.  Is this a recipe you have to find?  I ask because I didn't see in my menu before, but it's totes possible I just overlooked it.

Appears mechanics level 7 (or possibly 8 as i have a +1 boost to my normal) works (just conveniently got to upgrade myself while standing in front of it, and had the same issue where it seemed that would be the ideal spot for a switch, but nothing was lit, then when leveling up, it turned purple in the center). My main character's perception is 15, and a couple others have 18; I'm still quite the novice, so hopefully not messing up this feedback too badly.

Hello all.  Perception is not linked to finding traps/hidden items in game.  The stat that affects finding traps and hidden items is Mechanics.  Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.  Level up your Mechanics and you'll be able to spot it!  Thanks!

I finally found the hidden room!  My character had Mechanics 6 so I had her sleep in the Artificer's Room (main bedroom - artificer option) for a +2 to mechanics.  Armed with a level 8 the icon for the hidden room lit up and I had all the pieces .  Now to find someone to forge the blade !
