Just half an hour after I selected Fetid Caress for Aloth lvl 4, I found it in Ludrana's grimoire, and I was mightily annoyed. Ludrana's, found in Magran' Fork.: Lvl 1 - Minoletta's Minor Missiles, Fan of Flames, Ghost Blades, Chill Fog Lvl 2 - Fetid Caress, Necrotic Lance 2 The Seven Blunders/Roots of Violence: Wealth without work. You're effectively paying for those spells by hiring a wizard to let you copy his spells. The cost even scales if you want higher level spells since the cost of hiring a higher level adventurer scales. In fact, if you consider this a cheesy way to get spells, I can't imagine what you consider actually USING said custom-built wizard companion in your party to be. I also prefer to kill for them. Its cheaper and fun. Besides the spells I want I pick or my buddy parked in tavern studying them. Told him library but no.
