Meaning it doesnt make any difference whether its on steam or not because steam requires internet and if you have the internet, you can download digital poe regardless. You seemed to be suggesting that it's obvious that, if it's on the internet, it's on Steam. Which is not the case. If if you don't get a steam key and get a one time download you can "activate" it on steam and steam will still download and patch it for you because steam has it. Because, as long as you don't begin the patching process, you can go on playing the game without ever patching it (or having to connect to the interwebs again) in Steam. But as soon as you go online, Steam detects a patch is needed and even if you don't download it/have updates for the game disabled, will tend to disable the ability to launch the game again until you do update it (you get a "this game needs an update" type message). It might not do that for every single game, but in my experience it's been most games. Not that I own Steam's whole catalog or anything like that. Isn't GoG DRM free?Yes. But I don't use Steam that much these days (especially not with games that are still regularly getting patched), so I don't know for sure. I just know a lot of people have had a lot of issues with it. Thank you LadyCrimson, now that you mention it I remember getting that message on one of my Steam games. Good to know about how GOG handles it.In the interest of having all cards on the table, I should also point out that GOG (who arth our lord and saviour) sometimes take way longer to release patches than Steam does, since they recompile the patches themselves or something along those lines, and do brief internal testing to make sure it works, before releasing it. This stems from GOG originally not really being built for games that are still being patched regularly, starting out as Good Old Games. Since I have a ****ty laptop for myself there is a good gaming PC that my sister and I share with my dad, sometimes I play a game on my laptop and then once I can, I play the game from the PC with better performance. For those of us with a PC plugged into our TV and who enjoy some controller-based games, Big Picture is fantastic. For a game like PoE, I'd favor GOG.
