Well, yesterday I found out to my surprise that it works pretty much the other way for cognac. Having a sip of cognac after you've brushed your teeth works great (no questions). I love stout, but the bourbon added a ...gloss finish... which over-wrote the subtler flavours. With apologies to The Dude and white Russians everywhere (no, belay that last) I think I prefer caucasians with rum instead of vodka ... a white Cuban, if you will.
