What you did today

Accidentally opened some post for the previous owner of my house to discover they were about to lose their pension plan due to some technical issue. Would have been child's play to redirect the cash to on of my own accounts. Luckily for him I'm not a larcenous bastard. Spent three hours trying to track the bugger down. No joy.

I'll send you my bank account numbers soon. Expecting the money to be wired tomorrow.

I would imagine that a beer or two isn't going to cause much of an issue though.

Maybe not for the casual athlete, but for professionals and those who want to max out its a big no- go. I only drink two beers / month and only on exercise-free days. (Except on festivals of course, on special occasions I drink until I need to be carried home)

By the way, I've heard that excessively fatty food has the same effect.

I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.

Thinking about it, I believe the main thing I'd have in my own small survival kit is a 10 pack of Bic lighters ... because trying to MacGyver a fire isn't something I'd be any good with. ;) I'd want other things too, of course, but ... yes, a lot of lighters.

Another nice day...which I'm currently wasting away watching some Little House on the Prairie episodes. I know I know...what a corny, sappy show. I don't care. I grew up on it and I still like it.

I have a lighter in my backpack, but I'd never go without my trusty old military-grade magnesium stick. Its like a sparkler, and with some fuzzy old birchbark I have a fire in no time at all.

I have one of those too. Plus one of my brothers made up some waterproof matches and gave me a small box full. Not sure how he did it but they work.

I thought about storing some dryer lint in a bag for fire starting too. Heard that worked very well.

Ive always wanted an underground shelter with a big steel vault door like in banks, decked out with water, power and ventilation shafts that look like innocent cactus when viewed from ground level. I don't have any use for this shelter, probably only go down there to watch porn, but it would be bad ass.

Too late, dude. I already rung up the bank, and reported the issue. Then passed the ball to a mate who is a bit of a private detective. He's taking it on, on the chance there could be a reward. Long odds, but it's a fairly easy job if you know what you're doing.

Works great! Take a piece of cotton, put it in a little metal jar and put it in an oven until its really dry. Seal the jar with tape so no moisture gets in. Perfect tinder to start a fire, one spark of a magnesium stick should be enough to make it burn good.

Wouldn't the cactus look out of place anywhere but the desert?

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Well, yes, I suppose there is that flaw in my plan.

The sad thing is it gets increasingly hard to find stuff made from 100% cotton, nowadays pretty much everything contains PVC. In my household only a couple of old bed blankets are made of 100% cotton.  :getlost:

That makes two of us. I have tons of highly detailed plans for such underground bunkers lying around on my brains scrapyard of unrealizable dreams.

Well done young Grasshopper !!! :dancing:

I'm interested what did they ask you in the interview? Was it straight work related questions or anything that you didn't expect

Very vivid dreams about going back to visit my old school. Subtext pretty clearly about ti passing, and growing up.

Up betimes and cold leftovers. Delicious.

Raked leaves/trimmed bushes and other yardwork. I have to do this wearing a dusk mask because of allergies, which means the neighbors probably all think I'm some kind of crazy nutjob. They might be right.

Straight work and experience questions, really. Apparently I got really lucky, because all their internship positions were filled, but about ten minutes before I applied one intern cancelled so the guy figured "maybe it's meant to be" and didn't grill me so hard.

You know, it's always weird when you wake up and for some bizarre reason you've had so much sleepydust form that your eyelids are glued shut.

It's like. "okay, I'm awake.. wait.. I cant see!!!!"

Edit: Hm, just realised I've had 3 meals in 3 days. I should probably make sure I sort out something for lunch today...

Congrats! Today low budget racing games. Tomorrow Elder Scrolls VI, or VII since I'm sure they are already working on VI.
