Papers, Please is getting released on August 8th on Steam and GOG

Glory to Arstotzka

I enjoyed the alpha version month or two ago, but I cant find any information anywhere has the game changed since. The alpha was fun, but you saw everything the game had to offer in like 30min. If the full version has more content, I'll buy it for sure.

Full reveal at TGS 2013.

Looks also like it's coming to PC.

Looks like its also being touted as an online multiplayer game from what I can see...

Because that's what it *is*.

Did anybody seriously think Capcom is gonna pour a $100 million into a massive singleplayer Skyrim-killer PS4-exclusive game? Capcom ain't a charity and financial debacles are no longer acceptable.

Because there is no chance an online game could become a financial debacle.

I was just pointing out information that I'd not heard about before, particularly given the theory at the time of the drop of the original trailer that it might be more like Dragons Dogma (which has a very light and unnecessary online component) than a MMORPG or Guild Wars type thing.

I just hate the idea of anyone thinking their country in any war were angels and denying that it is an ugly business. I would be the first to admit that the fire bombings of Dresden and much of Japan (as well as many other war crimes that it would be pointless for me to list by name) were totally unnecessary and that in a just world men like Curtis LeMay would have been held accountable.

As for Company of Heroes 2 I believe that it does enough to venerate the soldiers who were the true heroes of World War II and decries the politicians and generals who do not see the human costs of their actions and who twist noble causes for their own ends.

You speak elvish very well and with no effort.

Are you trying to paint expensive multiplayer games as something of a safe bet?

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/08/02/report-microsoft-to-announce-upgraded-gpu-speed-for-xbox-one.aspx

Microsoft announces upgrade of Xbox One GPU clockrate from 800Mhz to 853Mhz. Also heavily optimizes graphics drivers.

Still a piece of **** system.

It's not going to make that much difference, but it's a positive they can use out of context to frame the previous narrative, that PS4 has a significant lead in terms of GPU performance, to XboxOne has closed the gap. I wonder whether Sony will bother to respond.

Wow... just wow! Does this mean Arena & Daggerfall will work with a modern OS? If so I will buy this.

They will use an DOS-emulator (my guess is DosBox, maybe with some special tweaks) to run these games on modern OS.You will get the original version from back then.

You can already download the first two games for free from Bethesda.

I assume they work fine with DOSBox if it isn't already included.

You see, ever since the whole Doritos Locos Tacos thing, Taco Bell thinks they can do whatever they want.

For whoever it was that was waiting for La Mulana on the steam sale it's 60% off at GOG at the moment.

I saw that too, thanks though.  I'm mulling it over, got the whole weekend.  The price is fairly agreeable, it;s just that I'll be playing CoP Misery 2.0 for the foreseeable future, then Saints Row 4 once that comes out, and I still have to finish Unepic...

Thanks! I never knew this was available. It took some poking and prodding (I had to change my screen res before launching) but I got it working. It some ways this game really was before it's time (Daggerfall) but it also makes you realize what a quantum leap they did in Morrowind. Cool stuff.

Our ongoing mission is to create first person action experiences that are distinctive compelling, and memorable regardless of scope or platform. Most of the founders began this quest together over 15 years ago at Monolith Productions and have continued to refine and improve our craft as a team ever since. We expect to continue on this righteous path for centuries to come now that the Singularity is just around the corner .

http://www.develop-online.net/news/45002/Report-Sega-in-running-to-acquire-Atlus

Seems like Sega is winning the bid.

Persona 5 for PC inevitable now.

Part of me worries about how SEGA will ruin Atlus.  On the other hand, if they were to make, say, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 3 for PC, then I would hurl my money at them hand over fist.

I have to admit, Sega buying Atlus worries me a whole lot - particularly since Sega can't seem to get their act together, I can only fear how they'd run/ruin Atlus and Atlus' games.

Also I'd have to figure some of the niche games Altus USA publishes wouldn't get picked up under Sega.

but maybe I'm being too gloomy & doomy

Also I'm not a superfan of 1st Person Shooters, but that Betrayal Trailer looks interesting.

You know when Monolith old-timer Craig Hubbard has left the firm, things at Monolith must have turned really ****ty.

That's what clued you in? Not the free-to-play Batman and Lord of the Rings games they've been doing?
