"You might want to pressurize the room because what you're about to see might make your head explode". Haha, silly Josh and his dry understatement, always kid- HOLY CRAP!

-Gggghmrrgmuh!

-Squeeeee!

-Ooooooooooh.

*sound of drool flowing from slack-jawed amazement*

Absolutely phenomenal work guys. I honestly never expected the game to look as gorgeous as that. Super pumped.

It looks like it would take more time making a scene like that in 2D rather than 3D. Is that true? Or will it be faster once you've figured out where you want to be regarding the animations.

I noticed that a lot of them were probably just placeholder animations, with a bit more time spent that scene could look really alive.

I also have to say, when you zoomed in on the characters ... that size would be just about right for the game default zoom @ 1920x1080 IMO.

I was trying to select the characters on screen to make them go explore that temple the entire video.

I want to play this game now!

This is just amazing work. I really can't wait to see and play this game when it releases. Thanks so much for the pre-rendered approach! Games like Diablo/Starcraft, Baldur's Gate etc.. to me, they always looked better than the real-time 3D low poly models.

I really like and am impressed with how you have incorporated the environment animations. The way the tree's sway and the water goes up and down. It's clever and the lighting from the day to night cycle and the little yellow (firefly?) that comes out of the temple looks awesome.

I love the approach and can't wait to stay up late nights exploring this eye candy game.

I am more impressed by character models than the animated scenery!

I bet Obsidian can gather $ 500 k more  just because of this video

Say what? Tim Cain and Avellone work on this project on top of that?

A dream come true

Cool stuff, does this video show the new tool you guys were experimenting with last week? I still wish the models were scaled about 10-20% bigger. Although I liked the scale of the forest, I just wish it wasn't as linear- though I realize this is a demo. It is very pretty, and im glad you guys added in animated grass and water.

So, it looks like this is actually going to be in 2D? I had always been under the impression that the idea was to have 3D rendered from an isometric perspective - after all, I think what most would agree they want is the IE gameplay experience, not 2D in and of itself.

I guess I'm curious as to what drove that decision, as it seems like something that adds a fair amount of extra work for no real gain.

Amazing work Obsidian!

That scene just looked gorgeous!

Everything was just right, the waterfall, the top-notch lighting,

the flowing water and moving trees and especially the characters.

This video convinced me to up my pledge and I hope that the pledge managing site will go live soon.

WOW!! This is easily the most exciting thing I've seen gamewise for the last decade! Feels like the Infinity Engine anno 2013. Which it as a coincidence also is. Great work, keep iy up, can't wait for this game!

Very nice the trees, grass and water all worked together well.  The movement was subtle but there and the lighting was well done.

Keep up the good work and keep us in the loop with these nice updates.

Thanks to the whole team

All i can really say is WOW, this looks great. i know it's a very small area but with the music i really get a Baldur's gate 2 feel from it. Maybe Baldur's gate 3 will never happen, but i think you all have done a fantastic job bringing the spirit and essence of it into P.E.

Also do you have any idea when we'll be finding out the actual name of the game?

Also a good point. The quality and uniqueness of the character models exceeded my expectations. The art style is very good too.

I would hope that the ui is clean and appears minimal (like google website, appears but not simple). This way you can observe the art and detail very well. I would even dare say that BG and IWD have clunky/bulky ui. Also I would add i hope there is a zoom button similar to how BG: enhanced edition work. That way you can preserve the art, mood, and gameplay if you choose that route.

When I have time, I'll try to make a fan-made ui.

Impressive. This looks really, really good, and there was some nice music/sound in the video, as well. Good job!
