RANDOM VIDEA GAME NEWS!

Meh, if you want a game for cheap you can always wait until it is.  It's a gamble on when it will happen.

I stopped letting steam sales frustrate me by realizing that obviously I didn't have any problem purchasing the product at the higher price (otherwise I wouldn't have).

Hitman Absolution is 66% off on Steam.

What do you guys think?

Its a good game actually (OFC i say that after paying full price :p)  got some really great level design and despite all uneeded actiony levels, game still have "ye  olde Hitman" feeling.

They just released it in a very wrong time. There were many other AAA games that times, followed by Christmas sales from both steam and gog. Many gamer (especially youngsters) had favored other games instead of Hitman.

Nothing is true, everything is permited.

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Brand new Company of Heroes 2 screenshots

Looks dangerously like Day 1 purchase material here.

It looks good, but it does seem very violent. Maybe you shouldn't consider buying it  until various conservative groups have said it won't have a negative impact on your personality? That would be right thing to do when it comes to these killing games.

I can't deal with Deadly Premonition budget PS2 game presentation and Resident Evil-inspired combat either, but according to the fanbase the game has a great Twin Peaks-inspired story.

'Inspired' is a polite way of putting it. At times it's merely cheaply derivative (it has a 'pot lady' in place of a 'log lady') or copies parts of Twin Peaks in a ludicrously over-the-top sort of way that doesn't understand what made the source material so good.

Its unworldly, socially-incompetent and insane Agent Cooper-inspired lead, however, I think is fantastic. He's the most charming antidote I can imagine to the tedious industry fallacy that games need to be an insecurity-exploiting power-trip with a badass superawesome brooding hero to make the player feel 'cool' by proxy - partly because the deeply ropey writing lends him an offbeat, bizarre personality, but also because of some quite inexplicable brilliance in the character concept, especially in how it handles the player/player-character relationship.

There's one particularly wonderful and characteristic scene where the female lead shows up at Agent Morgan's apartment shortly before the game's climax, drunk and sodden from the rain and wearing a gorgeous dress, asking to come in...

...cut to her sitting awkwardly on the couch as the oblivious and in any case completely sexless Morgan stands on the very far side of the room with his arms crossed and monologues at her about gruesome murder-suicides and his imaginary friend Zach.

I regard this as a possibly inadvertent but quite brilliant screw-you to every single dreadful cringe-inducing self-aggrandising "romantic" soft-porn wish-fulfillment cutscene in gaming.

I got a 360 just to play Deadly Premonition. I understand how you feel :)

I actually played it on the 360 the first time. After that I ordered the Japanese import version for the PS3(because I just had the 360 for a brief time)and played it until I had collected every single trophy :) I just love the game because of the same things grotbag mentioned. I was looking forward to this release as well, but I just watched 2 new gameplay footages and the character voices seem to have changed. York sounds like a 15 year old now! Damn it, why the hell would they do such a thing?!   :banghead:

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.
