Tsuga C
Never cared for them because of just those sorts of "general fantasies". Err... now wait a minute... in a fantasy game filled with wizards, dragons, demons, wands, elves, teleporters, psionics, and unicorns, you draw the line at monks having extraordinary abilities? Never much cared for psionics, either, as arcane and divine magic was enough for me to manage as the DM. The concept of some Bruce Lee wanna-be standing toe to toe with a cloud giant and beating said giant to a pulp with nothing but kicks and punches never sat well with me. Sorry, Monk-o-philes, but I've never appreciated the Asian-style monk in my Euro-style game. http://cbrrescue.org/ Go afield with a good attitude, with respect for the wildlife you hunt and for the forests and fields in which you walk. I completely agree with this. It would break my heart if Tsuga C missed out on monk related content, and would really appreciate it if you could make the monk companion devoid of content and totally boring to play.

Juneau
Well for me, I'll pick my character, play with the people given to me. If they seem witty and useful and I didn't sue them all I'd play another playthrough with the companions I missed. THEN I'll make my dastardly band of pirate ninjas! (There so gonna be in the game.... Go find my pirate thread or the blackpowder pistols idea ) Juneau & Alphecca Daley currently tearing up Tyria. Tsuga C
"Keep them in the game, but 'take them out'" Gaaahhhh! Monks have all the appeal of fingernails on a chalkboard. Oh well, to each his own. Maybe I can burn down a monastery in the game... http://cbrrescue.org/ Go afield with a good attitude, with respect for the wildlife you hunt and for the forests and fields in which you walk. Oh well, to each his own. Maybe I can burn down a monastery in the game... Ah the sweet sweet melody of fingernails on a chalkboard. I don't think "monks" are a great class either: I don't think they were very well imagined, but that's fantasy for you. I had/have similar issues with the "barbarians." Alas, I'll take what I can get at this point and maybe the monks will be slightly different in this game. Lephys
Gaaahhhh! Monks have all the appeal of fingernails on a chalkboard. Oh well, to each his own. Maybe I can burn down a monastery in the game...That's the spirit! 8D Just punch every Monk you encounter square in the junk. Then, when they collapse to their knees and ask "... Why...?", you respond, quite perturbedly, "You KNOW why!", and walk away. 1 Should we not start with some Ipelagos, or at least some Greater Ipelagos, before tackling a named Arch Ipelago? 6_u

I had/have similar issues with the "barbarians." I've felt that way about "barbarians" for a long time. But I still like Monks...well, in some games. Depends how they're made etc. Also...post limit reached. “Things are as they are.
