teknoman2 2,982
One thing is an older badass, another thing is an elderly weaksause. Forton is the later. Har! Just look at his sorry face you beat the 70 year old kung fu master that lives in my neighborhood and then tell me he is too old 1 Quote The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past? Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born! We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did. Modern democracy is: the sheep voting for which dog will be the shepherd's right hand.
Malau 10
I want Forton to be that annoying uncle who cracks awkward jokes at you and gives you suprisingly well advice on what to do next and him to be an disenchanted monk who has a dark and serious past. Maybe he killed his master, or some fallout happened between him and his monk order and they have been hunting him for two decades now. Better yet a suicidal old man who decides to tag along because being killed by raging monsters sure are more interesting than drinking hemlock.

Incendium 0
I think the problem is that Forton's facial expression in the concept art did not portray the characteristics of a warrior/fighter. He looks like a weak man who has been enslaved and tortured.

Despite his appearence, he is probably an experience fighter though. Edited November 15, 2012 by Incendium

Sacred_Path 489
Forton is a troll character. Doesn't respond to loot, looks old and weary, is of questionable moral orientation, has weird romance options and cannot into European. Pretty plz.
Msxyz 32
I hope we can choose whom we can bring along and whom we can drop off the party. Nothing against middle aged men with a baldness problem, but I don't like Shaolin wannabes in my fantasy games.
Jojobobo 612
I hope he's really 20 and his appearance is just a sign of how hard he's lived. People wouldn't be saying he's an old fuddy-duddy then, would they?!

Vargr 31
Here's proof that a european-style priest/monk can work with eastern martial arts! Also, Forton should be designed after this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC6WAAlNHt4 Edited November 15, 2012 by Vargr

Osvir 1,707
Chin from King o Fighters, drunken master. Forton doesn't have the face/appearance for it, unless he's jut posing for the camera with a terrible hungover.
DimuthuK 11
I dont get it. He wears little clothing because he is a minimalist monk with few possessions. He's balding and wrinkly because he's old. There looks to be a sadness in his eyes. As if he doesn't want to fight but does so for the greater goal whatever that is for him. Looks like a pretty good base for an interesting character to me. I also like how he doesn't look like your regular joinable npc. I wouldn't say he looks weak but I think the way a character finds strength in spite or because of a said weakness makes them extremely interesting. A trend with a lot of martial artists is their longevity i.e their ability to maintain high physical fitness in spite of their age. So, to me, Forton isn't cliche or completely ridiculous. He's just right even wih the kung fu pants. Calling him horrible looking and old peasant is a bit silly. Someone mentioned bad character design. A good story to go with the picture would solve a lot of issues.

I can get behind this, It's mostly the way the character is drawn/positioned that makes me dislike him, stripped down to his base attributes I have no problem with forton. JFSOCC 1,880
I just don't understand how people can call him weak. He's lean, but have you seen those muscles? I certainly am not that ripped.
