Sexiness and nudity are not the same thing.

Women shoud look sexy but no nudity. 3 option and 3 question.

What about nude but not sexy? What about decently dressed with a realistic figure?

Sory I did not take into account this option, btw women in realistic are sexy.

of course i don't whant P:E to become a porn or daiting game but...

It's kind of funny, actually. There's such a stigma attached to romances that people always have to add this disclaimer and justify themselves

And just like many people who feel the need to put these kind of disclaimers, your justifications completely contradict your claim. You're asking for completely gratuitous and prominently featured tililation, which is kind of a defining feature of porn and dating sims. You could at least try to admit it.

By the way, I voted no at everything, because of how profoundly biased your poll is.

Sory I did not take into account this option,i saw brood mother from DA-O (nude but definitely not sexy) and i don't want to see it again ...

So nude but not sexy means a broodmother? Or were you talking about decently dressed with a realistic figure? Either way: what?!

Obviously generalizing here, but nudity in video games makes many people uncomfortable (unlike some other forms of media). They find it jarring, immersion-breaking, it reeks of fan service, of being (ironically) immature, and taking the place of pornography.

Whatever they reasons for all of this, and whether or not this is a "good" or "bad" attitude to have about games, this is just the way things are. It sounds like a bad idea to shoehorn it into a game at this point - especially one with the goals of P:E.

So - no.

I hate it when people confuse "mature and adult" with "gratuitous sex and gore." I love me a truly mature game, but maturity does not come with boobs and sensationalist sex scenes (or sex implications; the poll offers the laughable examples of Dragon Age's and Mass Effect's so-called sex scenes). As a matter of fact, it has the very opposite effect; they instead end up appearing very juvenile and immature. The moment a game decides to flaunt a naked boob (what about naked men, by the way? One thing I've campaigned for in the past, when it comes to The Witcher 2, is that there should also be male nudity in the game. Fair is fair, after all.) or playback a sex scene, and does so in a way that makes it apparent that they're doing it just for the sake of it, they lose a whole lot of credibility. (The same goes for blood and gore, of course, but this topic seems to be focused on sex.)

A mature game stands neutral in relation to sex and nudity, which means it neither sensationalises it nor censor it. It shows the "reality" of it if it fits the world it takes place in, in a way that makes the player notice it, but without making them get stuck in it. A mature game can portray these things either in a "gritty and real" way, or in a "romanticised" way, if it chooses to; it really doesn't matter, as long as it feels like it belongs, and like it isn't there for simple shock and awe (or to make drooling boys soil their underwear). The Witcher 2 has already been mentioned, and that by all means is a mature game, but for other reasons than nudity and sex (which it sometimes succeeds in, and other times is guilty of the gratuity factor). It is a mature game because it deals in issues that matter and feel real, while it at the same time paints us a world riddled with characters and events that are believable and make you think. I digress...

The poll made me roll my eyes. It focuses entirely on female nudity, and none of the options anywhere felt satisfying to me. I ended up voting "no" everywhere. Project Eternity could have nudity and sex in it, sure, but it needs to be done right, with none of the sexism or gratuity or the censored PG13-dito Bioware gives us, or not done at all.

I'd like Obsidian to include sex and relationships if they feel it fits well/adds to the story, and if they feel they can handle it in a way that's not ridiculous. Something I dislike generally is the way in which violence is so much more acceptable than sex.

I was going to vote in your poll but... I realise it must be difficult if English isn't your native language, but why does it not just say "people should look sexy" instead of "women should look sexy"?

You're asking for mature content in a subtle way, then proceed to stating the sex cards in the Witcher as an example. For me this does not compute. Personally I don't mind romances or sex in video games but only if there is a point to it story wise and not shoved in for the hell of it. Sex cards however piss me off more than anything.

And about Isometrics, this is posible in portraits and if the characters have more details but if not then simple "blackscreen" will do. It just depends.

I didn't vote since there is no real combination of votes that comes close to expressing what my thoughts are. Obviously we're not going to get full sex scenes in this game because those types of cutscenes are simply beyond the scope of the game and can't really be done well with small characters in an isometric view. As far as sexual content being included in text form, or having partially, or even full, nude characters in the game, I'm fine with that as long as it makes sense for the world and the situation. I don't want sex to be added to the game just for the sake of adding sex to the game, because sex sell or whatever. However if it makes sense for there to be nudity or sexual talk or innuendo included in a scenario, and this goes for explicit language too, then I say go for it. The best example of how this is presented to me are The Witcher games, minus the sex cards in the first game. The game takes place in a dirty world full of discrimination and debauchery. The games don't skirt around any of this and present sexual content or explicit language where appropriate, but don't just shoehorn explicit material into the game where not appropriate (again, minus the silly sex cards from The Witcher 1). If, for example, in Project Eternity we stumble upon a woman who's about to get raped, whether we decide to stop the heinous act, or not, it would make sense for her to be shown partially (torn clothing) or fully nude. If there's a heated argument between drunks in a run down tavern going on, it may be appropriate for them to be swearing at each other and using racial slurs appropriate for the world.

*looks at the last section of the poll*

:getlost:

Null vote.

Don't mind some sexy, don't mind some implied sex, if it was all optional. But no, it's not my preference to have/play a highly sexualized game. Obviously, if a game is largely intended to be some kind of nudity/sexual game showcase from the beginning, that's something different, but in terms of P.E. or any other more "typical," more general-market fantasy cRPG, I'd rather leave it up to mods/modders to add that kind of stuff in for people who want it.

I'm not going to vote in the poll, as I think they are inherently loaded (not by design-they just are).

I have a huge issue with nudity, adult language, sexual or other 'mature' themes being included just for the sake of being included. In my eyes, a 'mature' game is one where the so called 'adult' content feels natural within both the setting of the fiction, and in the context of the scene, quest, location, or what have you and not forced.

Guess I'm having trouble actually putting it into words, but I feel that alot of visual media content (not just games) include adult content in a inverse relationship. That is, it is shoehorned in for appeal to non-adults-strangely.

When I read what Obsidian wanted to make, that is the idea I had. They would create the game they wanted to make without the restrictions of included such content when if fit into the narritive/scene, or the forced inclusion just for the sake of labelling it a 'mature' game or appealing to marketing God's or spread-sheet Sallys

Am I making any sense? I'm probably explaining my veiwpoint poorly.

I like the idea of romances, a-la Baldur's Gate 2. I'd prefer to keep it just about the same in PE. The more gratuitous stuff just isn't needed, just like I also do not need to accompany my characters while they have their bowel movements. Leave some things to the imagination.

I think sex can be in the game and to completely exclude it in a "adult" game, may be strange, because I am sure it plays a role in all of our lifes.

I think it should fit to the story and characters though, maybe for some this may be important, for other companions not at all.

I don't see any need to make that in any way animated though, I think animations should be added to things, that are frequently used in the game. I don't need any graphic display of any sort or "pornographic" sounds in background, I am sure we will know what happened without that.

This poll is useless, what about men? Why can't they be sexy? What about sexy dwarves and gnomes? My friends an I are already selling commissions for PE dwarf porn as we speak so I'm sure we can lend Obsidian a hand, to ensure this game will be the greatest RPG of all times.

will black screens or naked portraits* add anything significant to the game? i think no.

more likely they would cheapen it and take away it's credibility as adult entertaining game**.

Clearly that's why we need detailed naked portraits as well as high-quality pixel-sex that you can still make out in an isometric game. It would add sexiness and if you think about it, that is the greatest reward of them all. If you take out the sexuality from the game then you end up with something dull people can't relate to. Romeo and Juliet would never be as memorable without the long on-stage sex-scenes.

Only if it's interactive like a japanese sex sim, with unique positions for every race and class. It should be playable with keyboard only so your right hand is free to do... things. I expect some new character skills associated with this as well. The whole thing should be preceded by the most awkward dialogue you've ever read.

I also expect some developer signed tissues added to the CE box.
