Let's Talk About Easter Eggs ...

Recommended Posts

I've got a growing list in my mind of stuff I'd like to see oblique references to in the game from the KS campaign (especially after watching the live stream today)

1. "Green shirt girl"

2. the word, "wooooooooooooo"

3. lots and lots of vodka

I've got more, but what do you think would be funny/cool/witty/whatever?

Yeah, not #1.... that only reminds me of the disgusting chat that went on asking for porn shots of the female employees. :getlost:

There was also this thread: http://forums.obsidi...10-easter-eggs/

I liked the random recipes within the game (BG2) and the LEGENDARY pantaloons. Legendary.

The KS Collector's Edition does not include the Collector's Book.

Which game hook brought you to Project Eternity and interests you the most?

PE will not have co-op/multiplayer, console, or tablet support (sources): [0] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Write your own romance mods because there won't be any in PE.

"But what is an evil? Is it like water or like a hedgehog or night or lumpy?" -(Digger)

Second. What about an in-game copy of Tim's cook-book?

I think since they already planned to give that out with tiers.... Well, I think it'd be great if that were hidden around the game instead of being dispensed as a PDF as a tier reward. Make us work for them, lol.

Drunk Chris Avellone drinking alcohol in every pub screaming "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! DRINKS ARE ON ME!" and then everyone tells him to take his shirt off and he doesn't.

Not #1, the chat seemed to consist of some of the lowest forms of internet IRC behaviour.

Yes. It was incredibly embarrassing, being associated with the Kickstarter. Someone tried to start a joke thread about the "greenshirtgirl" and it was quickly locked down--at least the forums are moderated for such stupid behavior. (Apologies to the women of Obsidian--not all of us interweb peoples are jackasses controlled by gonads, honest.)

Honest error, nikolokolus. ;) Don't suppose you could still edit it or something.

As for other egg ideas. Something to do with beards?

I don't see what's so problematic about Green Shirt Girl. Sure, there were idiots among the crowd, but aren't there always. Personally I thought, that whole nasty thing aside, it was in good spirit and the Obsidian folk certainly seemed to think so, too. I would love to see it referenced in the game.

But we must not forget Fedora Guy, or at least fedora.

Hey, I just backed you,

and this is crazy,

but here's my money,

so stretch goal maybe?

True, I guess I did not express myself accurately a NPC girl with a green shirt for example simply dubbed "Green shirt girl" would be a great little easter egg. I simply did not like the idea at first because I was still at the time of writing the post still a bit "bleh" at the internets reaction towards green shirt girl :p

Yeah Alvin was cool. At some point the party was pretty much dead. Then Alvin came back, sat in front of the camera, chatted with the audience a bit and the next thing you know, party's back in full form.

Oh and people were pretty creepy about green shirt girl. Thinking about it, people were pretty creepy about all of the girls, actually. I can believe that some joined sarcastically after the creeps first went insane, but that doesn't excuse the "stretch goal: boobs" comments. Let's try to show some decency as a community, okay? Let's... let's just leave green shirt girl alone.

Have the "Dark Rock" mine supervised by the Fearful Gus.

Toiling in the mine and chained to their tools, the slaves work to produce glittering gems from the common muck of the Really Poor Granite bedrock.

And the only thing which keeps them going is the pet pink unicorn.

Green Shirt Girl NPC is being released as a day one DLC ;) She'll be riding a pink Unicorn.

Oh, and I'm really surprised to read about the misbehaviour of the "Internet". I must have missed the nasty comments you mentioned. Was it that bad? All the comments I saw were rather harmless.

I'm sure that the devs will be able to think of their own Easter Eggs without being enslaved by a bunch of "inside" internet memes. To be honest, they could have got me to up my pledge by promising never to invent another "cake is a lie" or "arrow to the knee".

What's all this about green shirt girl? Did I miss something interesting?

I didn't watch the closing party stream, so does this have something to do with it? :cat:

Maybe some references to D&D.

My Idea would be that in some little dungeon, which is just called "the Dungeon" (even in tranlations), you find a guy just called Dragon as a boss, who will drop you some weopen or armor+5.Or maybe in some house you find 4 people playing D&D. Just my thougts.

I would love to meet some old, mysterious, Gandalf-styled wizard (probably clad in red) in the beginning of the game, giving some cryptic advice and then vanishing for the rest of your playthrough. Only to leave BG-players giggling and newcomers totally confused.

Newcomer after meeting Melinster (name as a work in progress): "What was THAT all about?"

He could then appear again in PE 2...
