Game crashes every time I play

Every time I try to play I encounter a crash, so much so that I have only got as far as the witch with the prisoners in the cavern!

I have tried the following things:

. Installed game to HDD

. Installed patch

. Cleared cache and again installed patch

. Moved game save to MU and removed HDD

. Console horizontal

. Console vertical

. Console horizontal on laptop cooler and desk fan blowing into side vent

. Console vertical with desk fan blowing at side

 

So far nothing has helped. The crashes are random, Ive had it when trying to save, walking along a path with nothing going on and several times in battles.

 

Any suggestions?
