FO: NV (Spoilers)

Recommended Posts

It's called I didn't play dress up or with dollies when I was a child, and now thanks to the power of computer games, I'm making up for it.

Barbie dress up is an essential part of the Fallout experience. I can't count the number of NPCs I have murdered simply because I absolutely needed to try on their gear.

Yeah I have to kill almost every Gambler I see because I want every suit variation there is, I wish they just let you like, buy gambler clothing or soemthing so I wouldn't have to kill everyone. Also I was really mad when I found out that the Grimy Pre-War Businesswear wasn't a black suit anymore and was just the same skin as Dirty Pre-War Businesswear.

Also has anyone tried using the Lucky 38's Penthouse as their safehouse? Like, are the containers ok to put stuff in or not?

Really unhandy isn't it. You can't even fast travel to the area its in, and then there's entering the casino AND taking the elevator. The suite upgrade function has a broken menu, and it's dark and drab as you mentioned to boot. My safe house is 5 sarsaparilla crates stacked on top of each other next to the workbenches in starterville. They really screwed the safe house up.

That's awesome, Gorgon. Does that stuff remain safe, because that's where my extra goodies are going to go if so.

You can also get safehouses from every faction if you play nice enough to them, with direct fast travel and all.

What for you guys even need a safe house? Only thing I stashed for future use was power armor..

Guns you don't currently have any ammo for. Ammo you don't currently have weapons for (in HC mode) Loot you can't sell because all the traders are broke at your current level.

Clothes.... One of everything, because... just because.

I never stash stuff either. Probably why I never reach those insane amounts of caps some people reach in the game, I just can't stand picking every damn thing up and constantly mess around with inventory so I don't get overloaded and then have to travel back to safehouse and blablabla. Even really valuable stuff I'll gladly leave on a corpse if it's gonna make me have to mess too much with the inventory.

I was kinda amazed when I watched an LP of Fallout 3 somewhere. It was like night and day compared to how I play the game.

Well my current guy is an unarmed specialist with the strong back perks. I rarely ever hit my weight limit of 300 lbs. Besides I need to hamster all the crap I find because I haven't increased the barter skill at all.

Also, just clicking 'take everything' is a lot faster than picking out what you like from every corpse.

Mostly, I'm a pack rat when it comes to things like water and, less and less often, food. Ammo can be a pain in Hardcore mode. I have something like a thousand MFC, and it's starts to weigh a pretty penny. What I'll probably stash now that I know there are safe places outside of the Strip, are nuka colas, water, sasparilla, and ammo. I'll take ten of each with me, I think.

Yeah not only do I collect and stash everything that isn't just regular junk (ok sometimes just regular junk) but I also refuse to carry more than 20-40 Wg's of equiptment when I'm traveling around.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Also haha yeah I've walking into a lot of wierd people sleeping in the same bed situations. And it's not just companions. In Camp Golf the NCR soldiers sleep together in some of the beds.

That old ranger dude (forget his name) was spooning with one of the other rangers when I came in to talk to him. He got pissed off at me bothering him, got up from the bed, then went down the hallway and climbed into bed beside another ranger.

Also, I only ever got access to one safehouse. It was the Brotherhood of Steel one. Even though I was tight with the NCR and the Rangers, I never was given access to it. What gives? Last time I ever go checking their radio transmissions for them!

probably missed the right NPC. for the NCR it's either Hsu or Boyd at McCarran, for the Followers it's Benny's friend obviously.

With one of my characters, I decided I would collect every single teddy bear and toy car. It's like pillows in Morrowind...I wonder if you could create a giant stack of 'burned books'...

*knucklehead alert*

I cant get Boone to snipe the old lady, what am I doing wrong? Ive tried everything I can think of here. I wait till around 9:00pm when Boone's shift starts in the dinosaur. I put on his beret. I go into the lobby and pick the safe (odd that you have to "steal" to further the quest). Inside the safe is the note telling how the old lady sold Boone's wife into slavery. She goes hostile at me ripping her off and starts punching me. I kite her outside and to the front of the dinosaur but Boone never snipes her. I ran around for a while in front of the dino thinking maybe there is a preferred "kill zone" but nothing. I even kited her up to the dino mouth just to see if that would force a trigger but still nothing. What gives? Go ahead a spoil me if you have to.

It's broken. Sometimes If you talk to her about Boone's wife first you lose the dialogue string where you ask her to come with you to stand in front of the dino. (at which point you put on the beret and Boone shoots her)

To get it to work accept the quest, make sure it's dark, break into the shop and get the evidence, then go down to the culprits house and wake her out of bed and ask her straight away to come with you.

Oh? Interesting. I've never encountered that issue, thankfully.

My thought was that it was because she turned hostile. I'd imagine this would negate the 'come with me' script and thus not activate Boone's script to shoot her, if that makes sense. Did you pick the lock when she was still in the room, gifted? I always wait until she leave for home, get the note, go into her house and wake her up. As she walks, I put on the hat.

You also have to be somewhat close to where she ends up standing, or Boone doesn't seem to "notice" you. Not right next to her, but not too far away either.

Hey so is there a way to get the NCR to not be hostile towards me after I already failed the "Don't tread on the Bear" quest?

Yes, I didnt even know she had her own house so I thought I had to rob the safe in front of her so she would go hostile and follow me to the front of the dino. I was never given a conversation choice to lead her out there so I thought that was the only way.

Thats what Im going to try when I get home from work. Now, just to find her house, lol.

Duly noted.

I think it depends on your reputation with them. After I failed the Bear quest I became neutral with them (from Idolized IIRC), so they wouldn't attack me but didn't like me either

Yeah it says I'm a "merciful thug" and they attack me whenever they see me it's really annoying. The worst part is that I only went so far down the Caesar's Legion quest line in order to infiltrate them, gain Caesar's trust, become his person doctor, and then kill him during the operation. Then once my mission was complete, it turns out the NCR hates me! And there is no way to fix it. I'm pretty bummed out. Like, I don't care about working with them, I just don't want them to attack me.
