What are you playing now

Uh-huh, you must've played the beta a lot then.

as good as it is, it's an updated SC 1, nothing more.

On the contrary, I completely agree. Perhaps I ought to have used italics to better convey my tone, but I figured that a statement as breathtakingly capacious as "every strategy game ever made" wouldn't be taken as anything but ironic.

I'll likely wait until the collected "battlechest" takes a price drop (in 3-4 years) before buying it.

A dull boy.

Since Half Life 2 is hopelessly problematic with me apparently (after I finally fixed a problem with sound and I managed to play up to the boat-driving section, the problem reappeared after the Steam update :/) I've begun Gothic 2.

The old nostalgic feeling is all there, and after fiddling a bit with the control scheme I've managed to create something comfortably close to that of Risen. Not quite as smooth but still good fun.

And mighty hard too!

I never understand players sense of entitlement about "GAMES SHALL NOT INCREASE IN PRICE!"

it's a business, they'll go up in price, acti is just the first to do it with pc games.

I'm messing around in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 again. Playing it on my 22 inch hdmi 1080p monitor... I need to get headphones for this thing, the sound quality sucks.

... I didn't do that, it's just that your post brings up some annoyance in remembrance of my soon-to-be-ex coworkers who gripe that a game is going up 10 bucks in price. Along with the numerous members of the interwebz who think that we should never have the prices on games jump from their 90's levels.

Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.

... why should PC games cost less than console games again?

A pox upon GG and their sales. Ended up with Bioshock (at $7, how much can you really lose?) and East India Company. Only downloaded them though, still playing Space Rangers 2. It is strangely addictive

Well, you can still loose ~20h of your life, but it's not really that bad if you know what to expect.

That's the thing, not really expecting much. First there was the DRM thing (I read that the 1.1 patch removed the limited activations), then people complained about this and that. All I've ever seen from it are the youtube trailers. You could say curiosity simply got the better of me

I made the mistake of getting all hyped for the second coming of System Shock.

I bought the Collector's Edition.

It's certainly worth checking out, just for the cool art deco stuff and old music.

Go play DeadSpace if your looking for the second coming of System Shock (1 and 2).

At least you got a pretty little paperweight out of it.

Dead Space is like Bioshock: buy into the hype and you will be incredibly disappointed. Otherwise they're both pretty good games.

Starcraft doesn't really lend itself for something crazy like a Supreme Commander style map or Company of Heroes style level design. I'm glad they're sticking with what works.

If they'll innovate, it'll be with a new IP.

Interesting, how you can say that innovating starcraft2 would be new IP, and when people were disapointed about new face/innovation of XCOM you were defending the chang of IP... How do you judge what is good to innovate and what is not? :o Or you just write random non-sense based on who do you want to piss off? :shifty:
