Aram has not given his opinion on the new guns that have been revealed. This makes me cry.

You just find it amusing to watch me talk to myself about guns like a raving lunatic, don't you?

Remakes are the Devil.

It depends how much dumbification the remake is (would be) subjected to.

Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

Fallout 1 is fine the way it is, Fallout 2 has its problems but if you go through changing everything at some point it stops being a remake. They both still work and they're $5. And both are owned by Interplay as of now anyway.

I don't see why turn based isometric Fallout can't at least coexist with the FPS ones, though.

Turn based is dead though. There will never be made another by a major developer.

Turn based is not "outdated" nor was it made obsolete by real-time combat. It's only as "dead" as people percieve it to be. There was a time when sidescrolling was considered "dead", now not only do we have Megaman 9, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, but we also have things like Braid.

Yes, I really want to play the same game for the 4232th time.

No thanks, new story or bust.

lol. wut?

This is video gaming, THE INDUSTRY. Everything is redone, remade or just kicked out for the umpteenth time.

Everything that is old is new again.

Seriously, people have been playing games that consist of taking turns for many thousands of years. It's not about to be killed off the cpu.

In 7th grade, I teach the students how Chuck Norris took down the Roman Empire, so it is good that you are starting early on this curriculum.

So you want a Fallout 1/2 remake because everyone else is doing that?

That's a pretty sad reason. I'd rather have Obsidian try something new.

Well allright that's one. One.

That "One" is pretty big.

Like Japanese Hasselhoff big.

But for all of us, there will come a point where it does matter, and it's gonna be like having a miniature suit-head shoving sticks up your butt all the time. - Tigranes

I don't neccessarily WANT a Fallout remake or an XCOM remake or a Jag 2 remake. I was only remarking that if it were not highly dumbified a remake could be fine, ie NOT the devil.

I think simply claiming that remakes are the devil is a pretty sad reason for not wanting a remake. Actually it's not eally a reasomn at all.

Eh, any remake would have to be dumbified and made 'cool', so they might as well be the devil.

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
