What happened to both Kotor2 restoration projects?

I have tried looking on the web to check if any progress was made:

- TSLRP hasn't been updated, as usual. I think I should give up on this one. I really wonder why TG hasn't made public the codes so that anyone may continue their work.

- TSLRCM was the other big project but I can't find any downloadable version nor any information. Most links lead me to a blank page with the words "not found". Has there been any work done on it since last autumn?

But is it complete or should I wait a bit? I am in no hurry anyway, just checking the progress.

The non-Gizka site released a working version about ..mid october last year I think it was. They've subsequently released about 3 patches for it as well.

I have played Kotor 2 with TSLRCM. I can highly recommend it, it pretty much adds everything except the Genoharadan-quest. You have to register to the forums to get the files though. And remember, you have to install the patches in a cumolative order, otherwise it will not work.

Thus,

1) Install Kotor 2

2) Install highres-movie and music-patches

3) Install the official Kotor 2 1.01-patch

4) Install TSLRCM

5) Install TSLRCM: patch a

5) Install TSLRCM: patch b

6) Install TSLRCM: patch c

7) Install TSLRCM: patch d(if there was a 'd'-version, can't remember).

8) Play

"I dream things that never were and say why not?"
- George Bernard Shaw

- Friedrich Nietzsche

Another recommendation here. KotOR2 is pretty much complete now.

Thanks for the installation instructions! Yeah, it's good news that we can now play a complete KOTOR2.

One more question though: I had read somewhere that the Genoharadan-quest was being done in a separate mod that will be released sometime in 2010. Is that true? Maybe I should wait a bit if this is the case.

IIRC, it's in the "lets toy around and see what happens"-phase, play the TSLRCM now and again whenever that mod is released.

Personally, i will play it again when the Sith Lords Massive improvement Mod is released (no content, just higher resolution-skins, audio and whatnot).

I would try not to get my hopes up too much if I where you. Don't get me wrong the restoration is a wonderful thing and some of the new contents is just amazing. Sadly as I recall it some of the stuff they restored feels a bit pointless and when I played it at least I couldn't help to feel that it was cut by Obsidian for a reason. For the the best stuff of the restored content was the small details that you hardly noticed unless you payed attention, those things made it a far better experience for me then the larger stuff they restored. ^^

OK... installed! (I just used patch 1.0b - figured you made a typo)

Let's see how this goes...

Yeah, it was a typo. There shouldn't be any more official patches than the one mentioned.

Just a question: what's the difference between TSLRP and TSLRCM when it comes to KotorII's ending?

I do remember that TSLRP was supposed to feature some new animations and stuff, besides making the ending a bit more coherent.

What does TSLRCM do exactly on that matter?

You get to see your companions again, and some lines make more sense now.

IIRC, the endings in TSLRP and TSLRCM are the same, except that Gizka had made special "Atton leaning against a pillar"-animation before joining The Exile on the Ebon Hawk. TSLRCM has the same ending, without the leaning animation.
