Halo is essentially a reboot with an extremely similar story and elements. If you can stand old Doom style graphics I'd highly recommend it as it had a great story, though confined to computer terminals. The third in the series, Marathon Infinity, made the story feel like Planescape in space as people still debate the twists and meanings to this day.
