ATI and KOTOR 2?

Recommended Posts

I recently upgraded my graphics card (well it's been a while, but this is my first time playing kotor 2 since the upgrade) and I'm having an issue with it where I can't play it for more than 5 minutes - AFTER I restart my comp.

What happens is the "Console" that pops up when you go to say the workbench, or one of the computer terminals to get information for the story-line, the little arrows that point up and down (for extra information) starts blinking REALLY fast. The background noise starts skipping and repeating itself once in a while, and the mouse and keyboard both quit responding in game.

I have a 4 ghz processor, 4 gigs of ram, an ATI Radeon HD 2400 card (with 1 gig on onboard ram), and a comp that's more or less custom built for gaming with no issues on some of the older games.

Supposedly there's a fix somewhere for the ATI issues, but I'm not sure where to find it at. Any help would be appreciated as the updated drivers for ATI don't help, and neither does reinstalling the latest patch for KOTOR 2.

Thanks!

I realize that this is something tedious and worthless to most of you all, but honestly if I could get any kind of post or pointed in the right direction I'd be eternally grateful.

Just not sure where to look for answers to fix my grafix issue.

Both of my computers use ATI cards (3870's one of them uses Crossfire) and I never experienced anything like this. Try turning down some of the game's graphic settings?
