why wasn't your party helping u on malachor 5? Kreia hinted that they were still alive, but where were they? Why did it act like bao dur was dead? sorry, but it dont make sense to me, cause the exile didn't leave with them. and the movie "death of the ebon hawk," how could it still fly after that? :sorcerer:

Greetings and welcome among the sizeable ranks of TSL-players who feel confused by the ending. Sadly you have been the victim of severe amounts of content that Lucasarts forced Obsidian to cut in order to have the game released in time for the christmas sale of 2004, when the game was first published.

Suffice it to say that your party was supposed to attack Kreia on their own and be captured -

- which is why the exile explores Malachor V alone. A modding group began the task of restoring the lost content, but to this day it still has to see release, though most of the work seems to be done - http://team-gizka.org/

I don't think I can explain much better than Team Gizka does, so read their words and check their progress reports, some of which contains YouTube videos with the cut content.

Bao-Dur's fate is uncertain, but there is speculation that he was to die prior to the end of the game. However, the planet that he was allegedly supposed to be killed on - and I have no idea if the speculation of his death is true - was also cut from the game. It was supposed to be an entire planet of droids named M4-78. A fanmod aims to restore this stuff as well, though the plot content is mostly by the modder, since the planet was cut so early in development and its plots moved to other places that it's difficult to know what was originally intended for the planet. I don't think there is any mentioning of Bao-Dur in this mod, so his fate remains uncertain. If you like, you can find the mod here - http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/M478;89207

"The Sith Lords" or just TSL is one of the games most associated with suffering from cut content. For a critical view at this, see here: http://www.gamespy.com/articles/588/588057p1.html

Presumably the "Death of the Ebon Hawk" was not to be taken as literally as it seemed. It fell, but maybe power was restored timely enough to prevent its complete destruction before it hit the bottom of the chasm. That's speculation, but it's difficult to see how else the ship could have survived a drop like that.

Huh.... this cleared up some stuff for me too, without me realizing that it needed clearing up! Thank you.

the way obsidian edited the game wasn't (no offense obsidian members, i know u were on a tight schedule.)

As much as I love TSL, I'd agree with that, and I consider K1 a better game because TSL suffers horribly from the cut content. Is the story there? Yes, but you have to replay the everything from the meeting with the masters several times and pay very close attention to what they and Kreia tell you to make sense of it all.

I disagree with those who say the game is fine as it is. It's one thing that the game is great until you reunite the masters on Dantooine and then takes a huge turn to the left, but the exile's force wound status and Kreia's cause to destroy the will of the force are not explained well enough, which hurts the plot. That the exile's companions disappear into thin air on Malachor V is also inexcusable.

So while the plot is strong and interesting, the cut content means that it is told badly in key places, and some of the central parts - especially the meeting with the masters and the confrontation with Kreia at the end - could have done well with some enhanced or revised dialogue.

'nuff said, it was fun to play, and cutscenes were good, but the story was too poorly edited. It also never explained who made the tk copies, or who could have since revan constructed the original

That too will be in Team Gizka's restoration mod
