BioWare/Lucas Arts game unveiled Oct 21

This is going to be an interesting game. I've signed up to the forums and it's a bunch of people from SWG talking about Alpha classes. I don't think they realize this isn't SWG 2.

I'm kind of interested to see what crates look like 300 years after the last KOTOR game ended.

It sucks so far. Thoes graphics are ****. WTF is wrong with Bioware? No K3, well up yours Bioware and LA.

My game playing days are over. Nothing out there I want.

Well then the only thing left for you is to bitch and moan in various forums how modern games don

Bah, when you complaining about graphics, look at AoC.... Very demanding graphics is besides the bugs the biggest reason why AoC failed so hard getting more subscription, very few people can play it good...

WoW on other hand i have more than 2 years old Athlon64 3500+ with 2GB RAM and i can play it on 1680x1050 on maximum details with FPS in range of 20 to 80 depending on location and number of people around...

I dont want to see how AoC would run on my machine...

and I take WoW graphics over AoC, ME or Crysis anyday... at least I dont need to fork out 1500EUR for new PC every year...

This does not mean, that i will be buying the game... i was very excited about it few years ago when the MMO was announced, but now... EA will never see single penny from me, even if that game would be the best invention since sliced bread...

they ruined enough in the past and will ruin even more in near future with their stupidly overretarded DDRM policy...

Not to sound too harsh or anything, but GRAPHICS is one the the least problems that this game suffers from.

MMoGs also have potentially huge number of characters and NPCs in the same area.

Haha, yeah, that's what it's looking like. Brace for Revan fanboy nerdrage.

I'm looking forward to see what the BIO crew can turn this into. This game may actually be worth getting a job for. But if I do that, I won't be able to grind 24/7.

Decisions, decisions...

TBH, I'm glad that they skipped the Kotor II plot entirely.
It's probably too soon to tell, but I doubt that's the case. K2's plot runs much more behind the scenes than K1's, save for a few key moments, and even in those, the exile's part isn't really known to the general public. At the end of K2, the Jedi Order is pretty much finished, and Kreia hints that it's the exile's jedified companions that are the seed from which it's to be reborn in time. The exile just went off to join Revan and got gutted real good or whatever. None of that is incompatible with what's been made public about TOR's storyline.

Guest The Architect

I beg to differ, random n00b. I mean one of the big selling points of KotOR3 would've been finding out what happened to Revan. Well we know now. Revan never returned from the unknown regions. That means Revan was killed or just got lost on the way to searching for the True Sith and got sucked up by a black hole or something.

Unfortunately, no one seems to give a **** about The Exile, so the marketing appeal of the game would probably be seen as insufficient in the eyes of Lucas Arts. The retards probably thought KotOR3 X<5 years post-KotOR2 would've been too difficult for Obsidian to "fix".

You can bet that Revan will be Final PvE boss of the 2nd expansion....

I once read that the Star Wars universe is in a technological stasis. While the aesthetics and emphasis change, unlike modern day technological development, technology has very little actual improvement.

I've read the similar thing. It also said that one of the major themes of Star Wars (as setting) is the "forgotten knowledge". This was seen in original movies where only few force sensitives were alive or in prequels where Jedi almost totally forgot Sith and what they can do in about 1000 years. It's even more clear in various EU material like visiting Korriban in comics or games like KotOR, KotOR2 and Jedi Adademy. It's like Dark Ages where someone could find text from ancent roma or greece and "discover" something new.

While Jedi try to collect and preserve information, it seem to get destroyed often. Sith collect information too but based on their code, might even try to keep that information secret from everyone else (as seen in KotOR's Sith Academy ex-headmaster quest).

Hey, that's not a correct summary of K2, Kreia wasn't the one who killed most of the Jedis, and the Exile just followed her plans, not interrupted them. At least it's good the MMO is set 300 yrs later and says nothing of Revan. That leaves room for the real single player KOTOR 3, there's still lots of interest in that one, and they can re-use the assets from the MMO to make it.
