Consoles

Fragmentation is only necessary when there is lots of file movement, creation and/or deletion going on. I imagine for consoles the relatively small hard drive size coupled with the fairly static nature of installed operating systems and programs means defragmentation is rather unnecessary.

PS3's OS/FS defragments as things get put onto the hard drive. This is only for internal. External HDDs do not get such benefit.
