And Waterworld wasn't that bad, you know.

I liked Waterworld. Even bought the DVD.

Gone Baby Gone.

Pretty damned good movie. Basically about 2 private detectives trying to find a missing girl, theres deception, people getting shot, and all the workings of a great crime drama. I was a little surprised Ben Affleck directed this fine film, not that I have anything against him just didn't pin him for that sort of thing. Acting was great, Afflecks brother did a nice a job, and the action was good. I think it might have had a pretty low budget but it did lend itself well to setting and story. The only problem I had with the movie was the ending. For such a seemingly smart guy the detective made a retarded decision at the end. It was blatantly clear which was the "right" decision to make and his motivation for making it was utterly incomprehensible.

8.85/10

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

Taxi Driver.

Anyone living in a big city should watch this. Scrap that, anyone familiar with detachment to society should watch this. Oh, scrap that again, anyone should watch this.

Excellent movie through and through.

Ben Affleck also has an Oscar for writing, so it might just be that acting is the lesser of his talents.

No Country for Old Men. I have no idea how a movie can grab attention and keep one so interested through most of the movie, and then have such a crap ending

with no questions answered and the villain just walking off down a sidewalk after surviving a car accident out of the blue.

I'm guessing the book the movie was based on had a similarly lame ending.

I may be in the minority, but I actually liked the ending to No Country For Old Men. The movie is overrated, no doubt, but I still found it to be a pretty interesting tale. I'll never look at an air hose the same way again!

I had a day off work, so thought that i would see some more Scorcese-movies:

The Departed 9/10

Goodfellas 9/10

Casino 10/10

All three of them are flawlessly equal in terms of characters and story-telling, but Casino beats them with it's magnificent cinema-photography.

Excellent movie through and through.

Just about the best movie ever, my all-time favorite.

Travis Bickle is based on a real example, teh guy who wanted to assassinate Nixon. Except the poor chump was completely rubbish.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse - I actually really enjoyed all three of the RE films. I wasn't a huge fan of the games, but the movies are fun action romps and they've got arguably the best female action star in Milla Jovovich. This last one was probably my least favorite, but I still found it very watchable. Bit of a downer on how they treat returning characters, though.

as my flatmate says, Milla Jovovich is made for movies consisting of violence and hot chicks

in fact, i don't think i've ever seen her in a movie where she doesn't kick someones butt

I just saw Stardust. It was a pretty good watch and after seeing it I have complete faith in Matthew Vaughn directing Thor. It was one of the better kid-aimed fantasy movies. Its worth the watch just to see Robert DeNiro dancing around in a dress with a pink feathered fan.

Death Proof and Planet Terror. Pure Gold. Also saw A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More. It's been a good week for movies.

I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God.

So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me?

Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

New 007 Film to Open Oct. 31 in Britain

Mar 19, 3:31 PM (ET)

LONDON (AP) - James Bond will be back in theaters a little sooner than expected.

Sony Pictures says "Quantum of Solace," the latest 007 adventure, will be released in Britain on Oct. 31. The film had been due to open Nov. 7, which is still its scheduled release date in North America.

Daniel Craig is returning as the suave British spy, tracking down a shadowy international conspiracy whose leader is played by French actor Mathieu Almaric.

Sequences are being filmed in Panama, Chile, Austria, Italy and at Pinewood Studios near London.

I just rewatched The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly.

I definately have to watch that one again this weekend. All Leone's movies are an audiovisual mastery.

Awesome! In Alpha Protocol I still go more for Jason Bourne, though.

Another old film: To Die For, w/Nicole Kidman. I'd forgotten how enjoyable the movie is to watch. It's not a belly-laugh film, but a good piece of satirizing America's unending fascination with crime in media.

Also rented I Am Legend. Great special effects and atmosphere - loved seeing the overgrown/untended NY - but mostly a big snore. Maybe I was expecting more action than the movie actually gives you and should watch it again with less expectations in that area. Oh...that one 'zombie' male they kept showing ... every time he opened his mouth to do a CGI zombie scream, all I could think about was the mummy's water/sand/dust cloud open-mouthed faces in The Mummy Returns. Heh.

Haha, thats what I pictured.

I am Legend was pretty boring for me too. Please Will Smith or whoever is responsible, stop making mediocre movies out of excellent books. I Robot was enough. Just stop. Please stop.

Great...now all editions of I am Legend will have Will Smith's image plastered over them. :)

I watched Predator over the weekend. Still fun after all these years.
