As a fake-home-movie film though I thought it was very well done. Better than Blair Witch, although Clover is less about horror and more about suspense which would've been so much better if the characters were more fleshed out. To whoever did the casting and added Winona Ryder to the cast: "ARGHHH!!!! What the heck were you thinking?!?". She was so completely out of place in that movie (with all the acting skills of a dead fish), that I think she singlehandedly managed to ruin it for me. Apparently, it is a compact version of Season 1 of Family Guy: Blue Harvest (which I haven't seen yet). It was very enjoyable, great action and Statham is always enjoyable to watch (except maybe in the Dungeon Siege movie.) It wasn't high art, but it was fairly dark for this type of film. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. I was extremely pissed and depressed at such a cheap and horrible ending. Haven't been this mad at a movie since the Departed. Why do producers think killing off everyone of your characters is a nice ending? It's cheap and makes the viewer feel ripped-off. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. Not sure if you are aware of it, but this a remake from 1957, not sure how faithful it is to the original though.
