Still Alive - Jonathon Coulton

Warning: Contains spoilers for VALVe's Portal. Indeed, it's the end song during the credits.

Oh well, since you gave the link, Tale.

Portal - Credits Song 'Still Alive'

Edit: I've heard this song before. For some reason I thought it was going to be a song I hadn't listened to before, but yeah.

The guys finally understand how ridiculous they sound and look, I think the new shift in music is just natural.

And so much better than their black metal.

Forget "Can't Get You Out of My Head." This is why I say Kylie's got street cred.

And since I haven't posted in a while, I'll add a few more:

Catfish Haven - Monty Got a Raw Deal

This is from an interesting compilation called DriveXV. It's a tribute to the 15-year old R.E.M. album Automatic for the People. Stereogum got a bunch of bands to submit songs and put together the complete album. You can listen to it here if you're into reinterpretations of R.E.M. songs. For the Radiohead gushers (you know who you are), they did a similar tribute to OK Computer a while back, too.

Rhett Miller - Girl

I guess I've really been into these full-album tributes lately, because I've also been listening to a 40th anniversary tribute to Rubber Soul, one of my favorite Beatles albums. It's called "This Bird Has Flown" and you can listen to some clips here.

Thanks Drabs, I feel quite old now.

That Stereogum has a couple of decent tunes to download. And a bunch of other bands I've never heard of or will again.

Ben Lee - Thrash Unreal

<sigh> Me, too.

I remember my sister playing Automatic repeatedly on her CD-boombox while she, I, and my mother were in the garage of our then-under-construction house, sanding, staining, and varnishing the wood trim that would shortly be nailed up throughout the house. I think it was the summer before my sophomore year of high school.

How can Automatic For The People be 15 years old? It came out, like, yesterday!
